Shoma Homes Development cutler cay comuunity ripoff Miami Florida

As a homeowner at cutler cay community located off old cutler road, from the developer of Shoma Homes, I regret everyday having bought a home from this developer.
I am not the only homeowner at this community that feels this way.

Cutler cay was marketed as an exclusive gated community with Mediterranean style estates, and mansions, when in fact this developer has not met up with it's expectations. They hire contractors, which then hire unqualified sub-contractors that will be responsible for the building structure of these high priced homes, with no supervision form the developer, when it should be the developer's responsibility to maintain high quality construction, and detailed finishes on the homes.

I personally feel robbed from having my dream home, when I purchased this home in pre-construction, I was catered by all the shoma personnel, I selected over 80,000 dollars worth in upgrades, from lighting, kitchen to staircase etc

At my walk-thru which was done 2 hours before closing, it was to my attention that my staircase was not the color that was chosen, kitchen cabinets where missing, over 8 missing spot lights, tiles where cut un evenly, drive way and terrace pavers where unstable to walk thru, because it would sink as I walked on it. Floor tiles where hollow, crown moldings where cut horribly, the Jacuzzi was scratched, and problems with the sprinkler system Exterior paint missing in some areas.

I was forcefully obligated to close within that hour or I would be faced with penalty fines. I was promised that all this would be taken care of after the closing it has been over four months and after persistently calling and writing everyday of the week I still have not heard form anyone from the construction department.

I regret buying this home, Shoma Homes developer has lost prestige, because they hire cheap labor, poor quality homes. They are a mess. Do not ever consider buying a pre-construction home from Shoma.
