Show Stoppers holds a 3 day pom/dance camp during the summer at Northern Illinois University for high school girls. They select the top dancers and invite them to perform in the Disney parade down in Orland Florida during the Thanksgiving weekend. My daughter was one of the few selected.

When we received the paperwork (performer registration) in the mail, instructions were given, and I quote, "It is important for your to get your air reservations right away!! Do not delay... Call your travel agen as sonnas you get home!!" I purchased an air plane ticket on expedia.com for a round trip Northwest Airline flight (a non refundable e-ticket) to and from florida for my daughter to attend this trip. I paid a total of $205.76 for this ticket.

Show stoppers also required a deposit of $100 for this trip. On September 22, I received a letter informing us that the 2002 Florida SCA Star trip has been canceled. Show Stoppers refunded the $100 deposit but will not reimburse us the amount of $205.76 for the non-refundable plane ticket we lost due to their cancellation of the trip. No where in the paperwork is there a phrase or statement that a cancellation may occur and we would lose the money we spent on the plane ticket.

I know that we are not the only party affected by this cancellation. They deceived us by not warning us that there may be a circumstance that could occur causing their decision to cancel the trip and we would lose the air fare. At least the air lines state up front that the plane ticket is non refundable.

I feel that this company needs to reimburse us for this loss of $205.76. Now our high school will never attend this camp again to avoid future rip offs not knowing if they will cancel there trip again. Don't let them get away with this. Other girls are affected by this too.
