  • Sibley Auto Care 1347 Edgefield HWY 19 North Aiken, South Carolina U.S.A.

Sibley Auto Care - Mark Sibley Jr. And Mark Sibley Sr. I paid $600 up front for used 350 motor with warranty. The Sibley's did not install motor, that I never saw, stole the cash and skipped town. Then they ordered me to immediately move my vehicle. Once contacted Sibley's told Constable they will not come to court and will only come back to Aiken to see family. I have money order/receipts. BBB refused help when I paid for civil court. Aiken South Carolina

This concerns BetterBusinessBureau complaint#67009668.

I was referred to Mark Sibley Jr. and Mark Sibley Sr. by a former "friend." I needed to locate 350 motor, if used 350 with at least one year warranty. Mark Jr. informed me he called Carolina Machine Engines and they had 350 w/ warranty for $600. I would give him $600 for motor and addtional $400 for installing motor. The 1979 Cadillac would be ready to go for a total of $1000. However, Mark claimed he purchased used motor w/ bad crankshaft. I think he took upon himself to purchase a piece of junk because he said he had problems returning the junk motor he purchased.

The warranty would have covered that bad crank shaft. This is when I realized Mark Jr. was playing games. A couple of months went by and nothing was done to my car, Mark's excuse was that he was waiting for the guy to refund my money for the bad motor. Mark Jr. never informed me that he and Sr. had plans to shortly shut down the business and supposedly move to North Carolina.

I found out the hard way when Mark Jr. had a uhaul in front his trailer, which was located directly behind the business, SIBLEY AUTO CARE, 1347 Edgefield HWY. I asked to speak with Mark Jr. and his son told me he wasn't there. His son told me not to worry they were only moving to Augusta. Mark Jr. eventually answered his phone (8032924349) saying he was moving, didn't say where and that his Dad (Mark Sr.) would complete the car. Mark Sr. said that Mark Jr. would.

They simply pointed the finger at each other and then Mark Sr., who was still around, ordered to move my car within 48 hrs. Other business owners in mechanics told me not to move vehicle without certified letter stating why. Mark Sr. threatened to haul my car off to GOD knows where if I did not move it.

BBB was tracking situation and doing great job. However, screw the BBB!!! They had the nerve to inform me that they would discontinue their help being that I took it to civil court. Why would I ever think that the BBB promoted better business practices and helped those being ripped off by bad businessman? I think the Sibley's are in North Carolina, they may be ripping off others. The Constable here in Aiken County could not get a definite address, and the certified letter sent to Sibley's for civil court, I guess it was never signed for. Help me get these bastards! They must pay!
