The Sign Manufacturing Company is a joke. They say they are a legit company and will help the local small time business owner but all they do is take your money and make false promises. They took a deposit from me and then my sign for some reason didnt pass inspection to be put up on my business so they offered to take it to their warehouse to look at it and then give me a estimate on how much it would be to fix it and guaranteed me that if I decided to not use them or not get my sign fixed they would return it. A month passed and I hadnt heard anything from them so I had to contact them in regards to my tattoo sign.
They then informed me that the cost to repair it was more than what the sign would be worth. And to top it off it would be another cost to have them come back out and install the sign. At that time I told them that I would pass on the repairs and would like my sign back. They then informed that I still owed them almost 500 more dollars in order to get my sign back and they would not return it until I paid. I tried talking to multiple people in their company but the same answer was sorry and if I didnt pay them within two weeks they would send my sign to the recycling company.
This company does not care about the small business owner and to make it worse they took advantage of my wife who is currently serving in the military and said that they would help and give us a discount...all they did was take our hard earned money and then destroyed my sign. I will never use this company again nor refer them to anyone ever. I hope this report can help someone that is looking into this company and hopefully save them hundreds of dollars that we lost with this joke of a company.

The customer already owned this sign and wanted it installed at their new store in Fort Worth. They contracted us to survey the new property, prepare drawings for the City, submit for sign permits, pick up the sign, have it inspected by the City (this is required in Fort Worth), then install it on their storefront. It is a raceway sign so the installation portion should go rather quickly.
Unfortunately, after the initial work the sign did not pass inspection and the City gave us a list of the items that needed to be fixed before they would inspect it again.
In order to bring the sign up to code all of the wiring had to be replaced and all of the bushings inside the raceway needed to be replaced. The customer did not want to have it brought up to code so we could not install it on their building.
Our invoice was only for the City's cost and our labor performed, not for the final step of hanging it on the wall.
We have been installing signs in Fort Worth since 1979 and most of those that are shipped in do not pass the City's inspection. When we do not build the sign we cannot control the quality of it or whether it is legal to install.
If we built the sign then we take full responsibility for it, its quality and its installation. Otherwise, we only ask to be compensated for the work that we performed on the customer's behalf and any direct charges we have incurred such as permit filing fees.
