I filled out an online form for credit.  They wanted to see my prior year tax return to complete the application.  Since my business delayed my tax filings, there was no return to furnish them.  They put an inquiry on my history with the credit bureaus even though they never took a complete application in their definition.  I called to correct the matter.  Mary Ann Grimes said they would not remove the inquiry, but then she suggested I write a letter to her to be sent via physical mail with my complaint for them to consider.  I called to confirm they received the letter.  Miss Grimes said she did, but that they would not change their position.  They could offer no further justification.

John, they do have a right to view your credit

John:

You filled out the credit application on line.  You gave them your social security number, and at the bottom of the application I am sure there was an indicator that filling out the app gave them permission to pull your credit.

Sorry, but I really dont see the big deal about this at all.  After all you tried to get a loan from them.
