A salesman called me in early oct,2007, as i needed to replace 7 windows,i had a estimate from 2 companys.I met with Marc McDaniels on oct 24.2007 i told him what i wanted he measured the windows and gave me a quote, i said ok , i have one more estimate , i will call you,i called them and we signed a contract, i was told by the holidays i would have my windows, i also noticed my deposit of 1025.00 was cashed the day after in north carolina. after waiting and calling and hearing oh its the manufactur, or we will send some one out to remeasure,by xmas i had enough i contacted my police dept ,and a local news station, when they got wind of this , they promised to have them done by the second week of jan2008. well on jan 23 mark miller called after i have been calling, i even called there installer val, all the same its not on the truck, finally i was told they would mail my deposit back to me on the 23 of january well here it is a week later and no check and they won't answer my calls,so i have contacted the detective again, and channel 9 news to help resolve this, i am at the point to go to there office till i get my money back.the only way i want this corrected is a over nite check by thrusday or i will be at the office on friday with police in tow.

Mark Miller has opened up yet another company

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 28, 2008

This one is called AWNINGS OF WINTER PARK, LLC, using the same address as Skylyn Construction. I found it on Sunbiz.org. I am astonished that he continues to operate and that he has not gotten arrested yet.

skylyn construction phone disconnected

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 31, 2008

The owner, the thief Mark Miller recently posted a rebuttal about how he is revamping his customer service department....this "company" is a one man operation operating out of a small office. There is no customer service department and never was. Apparently he has now fled since the phone number for Skylyn Construction is now disconnected. In addition, his house at 2665 Queen Mary Place, Maitland, Florida is now up for sale. Good luck tracking down this crook to get your money back.

Even though SkyLyn Construction is a small and young company (only 5 months old), we have been able to complete 99% of the remodeling jobs we have booked on time and under budget. As with any new company, we are constantly learning new processes along the way in the building of the company. Unfortunately, we have made some mistakes along the way in our process of building the company.

As with any company, we rely heavily upon the experience of our employees and associates (several have 30+ years experience in the construction industry) to help us build the company. Even with all that experience at our disposal, we failed in getting the windows from the manufacturer (one we have never used before)and installing the windows in Ms. Forgue's mobile home in a timely fashion.

On January 22, 2008, even though the manufacturer was unwilling to allow us to return the windows for a refund (since the windows had to be customer ordered). Per Ms. Forgue's request, SkyLyn Construction refunded 100% of Ms. Forgue's down payment ($1,025.00). We are truly sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused Ms. Forgue and we wish both her and her family the best of luck.

As of February 2008, SkyLyn Construction implemented a new policy $0 down, 0% interest, $0 payments for 12 months (from the date of job completion). We have also hired an outside company to help oversee all jobs as a way to help prevent incidents such as this one from ever happening again. A new checks and balances program has also been implemented which will help not only the sales personnel with pricing jobs properly but will also make the order process quicker and installers job's easier as well. Along with these checks and balances we are also implementing a customer service department who will be able to keep our customers informed and up to date as to the status of their construction/remodeling job. So far, these new policies have helped both our employees and associates cut down errors and delays which ultimately have made for a more satisfied customer experience.

Again, we are sorry for any inconvenience Ms. Forgue has had with dealing with our company.

Sincerely,

SkyLyn Construction, LLC.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

follow through with police complaint

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 30, 2008

I suggest you tell police in winter park to contact altamonte springs police department where mark miller was previously located when he was operating his other scam operation such as five star vending, markland group, site selectors, breaktime vending and cerami shield. you can search for complaints on those companies on rip off.com and BBB. you are luck he only got you for a grand. others have been scammed out of 85 grand. he only got us for 25 grand and we managed to get 8 grand back when the altamonte springs police went to his house.

Unfortunately, I received a letter from the florida district attorney saying in essence that they consider grand larceny and fraud to be a civil matter and they declined to prosecute. Ironically he is in the same office building now with skylyn construction as he was when he was operating century placements and martel, inc. The scams he ran with those companies resuted in miller being court ordered to refrain from these operations and he was ordered to pay back his victims. he then filed chapter 11 and never paid back a dime. search for miller and these older companies on ftc website and you will find decision. this guy is a crook and he wont stop scamming people until he is behind bars. also contact florida dept of agriculture, us dept of justice, altamonte springs police dept, winter park police, us postal inspector, better business bureau.

if you google mark miller and five star vending you will also see a lawsuit commenced against miller out of colorado. there he told a victim that he would place vending machines on an air force base and gave victim phoney names of air force personel to contact, victim never got machines but miller got 85 grand. I know of at least 8 more victims with simillar stories
