There was something from Smart Certify that is on my report that I feel shouldn't be on there. I signed up for some online classes, that were surpose to be free for the first 90 days. I signed up because I was unemployed at the time, and I was planning on taking my CCNA. I thought that this course would help me out. After one week I decided that I no longer wanted to take these online classes. I was also under the impression that there would be some type of tutoring or instructor help, there was not. I sent e-mails and called to cancel the course to no avail.

I am now in the process of trying to purchase a home and have now started to receive threating calls about how I am this really negative and bad person. I am being told that I am going to have a lawsuit filled against me. I contacted a manager from the company and informed them that I canceled the classes before the 90 day period. I was told that they didn't offer me a trail period, and that I am obligated to pay the full amount because I signed the contract. I agreed to pay for the one week I used the service. I asked if they could contact there network guys and see how many hours I logged into there servers they would see that it was less than 40 total hours. I agreed to pay for the hours that I logged on. I was told that I have to pay them over 4000 dollars for a service that I signed up for on a 90 free trail period, that was canceled well before 90 days.

Fine let em sue

AUTHOR: Steven - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 02, 2007

Since they said they threatened to sue you now they have to. According to most collection laws they cannot threaten to sue unless they really intend to or have started the process.

Check with Consumer lending laws but I think that pretty much eliminates the debt due to harassment.

You had a 90 day free trial to evaluate the program and cancelled it well before then don't even see why you should pay anything.

If you do not pay, do they put it on your credit report?
