Although there are other companies involved, I am filing this report against Empire Marketing Systems (EMS) because the balance transfers from my credit card were made to them.

I was contacted by Peter who claimed to represent Smart Savings of Southern Utah. He gave me a sales pitch about a program that would help me master successful network marketing techniques, becoming proficient in ways of increasing traffic and sales to my sites, and realize a profit after expenses. Sounded good, I was interested.

Then he asked me how much I could afford to pay for such a program. (This should have been my first clue that I was being scammed.) We agreed on an amount. He then explained that the best way to pay for the program was by using credit card leveraging because this would get me the best interest rate from my credit card company. He than transfered my to Julie in his accounting department so that we could call the credit card company together and arrange for an immediate balance transfer.
This done, I was transfered back to Peter who told me he would email a contract to me. (Paying before signing a contract should have been my second clue.)

I received a contract the next day. The parties to the contract were myself and SSSU. The contract did not mention any of the benefits of the program I had been told about. In exchange for my balance transfer I would receive all trade secret products and service from something called a Money Home Program Package. The contract also stated that the balance transfer could be completed by merchant accounts EMS1, EMS2, EMS3 or Smart Savings. There was no provision in the contract for signature by a representative of SSSU, only my signature was required. (Third clue.) I signed the contract and sent it back.

At this point in your reading, you're probably thinking that I'm too stupid to be alive, and after the research I've done over the past few days, I would agree. But, I am relatively new to internet marketing and my primary focus is making my sites successful.

A day or two later, I received a call from Jon who said he was with SSSU mentoring. He was assigned to be my coach. We scheduled the first coaching session, which occured a few days later.

Next, I received a call from Shelia who said she was from Empire Marketing Systems and she wanted to set up my merchant accounts.I told her I already had merchant accounts through another company. This was the first and only time I have spoken with anyone from EMS.

A few days later, I received a phone message from Julie at SSSU. There was a problem with the balance transfer. She left me an 800 number and her extension. I now know that the 800 number for Julie at SSSU is also the main 800 number for EMS.

I also received a call from Peter about the balance transfer. During the conversation, I asked him who EMS was. Peter said he had never heard of them.

Next, I received an email from Debbie at WebProCoach telling me that Maikel had been assigned as my coach. I sent Debbie an email asking her to explain the relationship between EMS, SSSU and WebProCoach. She responded by saying that I would be keeping Jon as my coach, he had been assigned to me without her knowledge. She also stated that WebProCoach was the company under contract to coach my internet sessions.

At this point I was totally confused and suspicious. I decided to start doing research. I looked up the websites for EMS and WebProCoach. Neither site mentioned anything about the Money Home Program Package. WebProCoach did not list Jon as one of their coaches.

I emailed Jon asking him to clear up my confusion regarding SSSU, EMS, WebProCoach and him. Jon responded that he was an independent contractor for WebProCoach and they didn't currently have his biography on site to be listed as one of their coaches.

During my second coaching session with Jon, he explained that part of the confusion was due to the pending merger of SSSU and EMS. I went back to the WebProCoach site for more research. This company has very specific lesson plans for coaching. Neither of my two sessions with Jon followed the lesson plans I found on the site.

I recently received a statement from my credit card company showing two balance transfers to EMS, Inc. Remember, I've only heard from EMS once. I realize now that the EMS merchant accounts refered to in the SSSU contract are, in fact, Empire Marketing Systems.

Where I am now. Apparantly, I've donated a great deal of money to EMS. Other than the SSSU contract, I have received nothing more from SSSU in either the way of written or spoken communication or information regarding what I spent my money on. My phone calls go unreturned. The same applies to EMS.

I've had two coaching sessions from someone who has, overall, just given me a lot of homework to do to prepare for the next session. He tells me I have a total of 12 coaching sessions and he doesn't know what sort of package I purchased from WebProCoach insofar as websites, hosting and internet support. Remember, I'd never heard of WebProCoach until that first email from Debbie and I've received nothing from them in writing. The credit card company will not dispute the charges because the balance transfers were made by me.

I fully believe I am the subject of a scam. I am reporting this so that other trusting newbies don't get taken to the cleaners like me. I can't afford to make donations to scammers and will continue to attempt to get my money back. I notice from this site that I am not the first person to report EMS. Hopefully, I will be the last.

Offer of assistance still being offered, Kimberly

AUTHOR: Maikel - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 23, 2004

Kimberly,

I see that your complaint has still not been satisfied at this time. No doubt you are feeling very frustrated, and I imagine I would as well.

I am not sure where things got mucked up for you, and truthfully, there are times when a new student comes into the coaching program and s/he get lost in the cracks. Over the years of doing this I have come to the conclusion that when that happens it is just the law of averages. Some students come in and everything goes smoothly without a wrinkle; most come in and there may be a bump or two, but things get worked out quickly; and finally, there are a very few students who come in and it seems there is one screw up after another. Boom, boom, boom! Why that happensMurphy's Law, law of averageswho knows, but I do know it happens from time to time, and unfortunately your number came up this time. Now, that is not much comfort to you, I'm sure, but it might give you some perspective on things. Crap happens, no doubt.

Talking to Jon Hammon further on this matter, he told me he had attempted to contact you several times after the first two sessions and never heard back from you. I know that the Coaching Coordinator of WPG, Debbie, has attempted to contact you in the past and, again, recently but she has not heard back from you.

You're right, WebPro Coach does not have your money, but we can assist you by getting your coaching sessions completed. We have worked with a lot of Money Home clients assisting them in the process of getting a web site set up and marketed. Money Home also provides key codes for its software My Affiliate Finder which I can give you once you get into your coaching sessions.

Money Home is actually a two tier affiliate program as well as marketing tool. Depending on what a student wants to achieve with his/her web site the coach gets specific direction and support. I do not know where things went awry working with Jon, but my strong feeling is, based upon a lot of experience, that switching you to another coach would make all the difference. However, you will not know that unless you contact Debbie and give this shot. I know that is asking a lot of you at this time, but it might prove to be the most productive and useful plan for you now and in the long run.

There is probably not much sense of trust you have for us at this time, nevertheless, I would still encourage you to contact Debbie at docoach@webprocoach.com. If I had your email address I would email you her number. I do not want to post it here as I do not want crank calls being made to her office wasting her time.

The thing is, you never know what you might learn from a different coach, and my bet would be you would be happily surprised. Our coaching program is very different from other coaching programs out there. I hear that time and again from the people we work with as we to through the coaching program and after. (An interesting note here: back in the mid 80s I had the fortune to do some marketing work with the fellow who conceived and stared coaching. There were things I learned from him that almost all coaching companies have never learned and so never use. Ultimately, it is their clients who lose out. These lost concepts and principles are very much alive and in use in our coaching program and will benefit you greatly, not only in your business in your life as well if you choose to use them.)

I believe you still have a great opportunity working with us to assist you to establish your online business. As I said, I can tell you that, but until you find out for yourself by doing it you will never know for yourself. Again, I invite you to contact us and get things working here for you. I am sure we can make a real difference for you and what you want to accomplish with your Internet business.

My best to you and good luck,

Two Months and No Satisfaction from SSSU aka EMS

AUTHOR: Kimberly - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 11, 2004

Since filing my report on June 23, 2004, I have received no satisfaction from SSSU aka EMS. At this point, the only acceptable satisfaction is a full refund of the $8,000 I paid to this disreputable company.

While SSU has not filed a rebuttal to the report, I did receive a very nice rebuttal from WebProCoach. Unfortunately, WebProCoach does not have my money nor are we under any contractual obligation to each other for products or services.

I did receive two emails from Niki at SSSU.

The first informed me that I was confused about the relationship between SSSU and EMS. I responded that there was no confusion on my part and that I was awaiting a response to my report. I also requested that all communications between us be in writing.

Niki's response in her second and last email was that matters could not be resolved through writing. A refund of the full $8,000 could not be given due to "...costs of services and products that have been done or sent to you." I responded that except for two coaching sessions, I was not aware of any services done and I had not received any products. I requested that SSSU provide a full refund less any documented expenses. To date, I have heard nothing further from SSSU.

For those of you that have filed reports against EMS, know that EMS is now SSSU - Smart Savings of Southern Utah. Same address, same phone number, same employees, different name. SSSU is not a member of the BBB as claimed. The business license for SSSU is owned by Darin E. Toone and was filed November 5, 2003 in St. George City.

Unless I push the envelope on this matter, I will continue to be just another victim of an SSSU/EMS marketing scam.

I am currently preparing an email package supporting my rip-off report for the Utah Attorney General's Office, Cybercrime Task Force Division. I recommend this action to all those who have been scammed by these people. You can call the Task Force at 1-801-269-4506 or email your complaint to cybercrime@utah.gov

This is Maikel at WebPro Coach

AUTHOR: Maikel Bailey - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, July 01, 2004

Kimberlee,
I am very sorry to hear of your challenges and difficulties with the coaching aspect of your investment. I am upset that Jon is not following the lessons as outlined on the web site and will discuss that with him directly.

I take great pride in the coaching we provide at WebPro Coach because I know that a great coaching program can make a real difference in the results an individual seeks whether it is for personal, professional change or in starting a business. There are no magic wands and the work must be done by the individual with the assistance, insight and accountability that a coach provides.

Kimberlee, there is no short cut to success. It always requires work (homework). A coach is there to assist you with the work to be done and learn to do it effectively and smartly. This means not only learning how to do the technical aspects of the business it also means learning how to effectively manage yourself. Our coaching assists with you with both.

If there is something we can do to assist you in turning this around, please, contact the coaching coordinator, Debbie Marsh, at docoach@webprocoach.com. We can discuss with you what needs to be done so you are getting on with your Internet business rather than feeling you were scammed and frustrated.

Best regards,
