Buy SmartJobBoard software only if you are prepared to spend enormous time with troubleshooting and fixing problems or paying additional money to SmartJobBoard to help them to fix their bugs. To be objective I must say that I did not find SmartJobBoard unresponsive. I usually received response in 1 or 2 working days, however, my last upgrade problem took 30 emails so multiply that with 1.5 business day response and you get the picture on how time consuming that is and what kind of responses I got.

Long review: At the beginning ( 23.4.11 ), when I first bought and installed this software ( version 3.3 ) I was happy with it as most of the reviewers here. But the more you start dig into it you find problems and bugs which will limit you in what you wish to achieve and you find yourself spending too much time with troubleshooting and with bouncing emails back and forth with smartjobboard support. But I've got over it, fixed what I could and kept using it. I need to point out that I have intermediate experience with PHP and MySQL and I'm system administrator by a profession.

Recently I have purchased an upgrade from 3.3 to 3.4 and latest 4.0 version and it was and still is a complete disaster. I was unable to upgrade my job board form version 3.3 to 4.0 version in 2.5 months. When I asked for a help stating that upgrade does not work for me I got a response: #### Date: 18.9.12 Could you please provide us with your FTP, CPanel and Admin Panel access details? We need them to be able to look at the issue and fix it.

Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: YVL-506709 Department: Support Priority: Medium Status: On Hold ##### After that I have received email stating that I need to pay more money in order to get help: #### Our developers checked your issue and they said that you need to comment lines containing inserts of already existing pages like /edit-language/, /users/archive-and-send-export-data/ etc in db.sql file. Or if you want us to do upgrade for you then this may be done for an additional charge and you need to apply to your Sales Manager

Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: YVL-506709 Department: Support Priority: Medium Status: On Hold ##### which later turned out to be incorrect information. To cut the long story short I spent about 2 months of trying to fix this problem and discovered that in order to upgrade I need to increase hosting RAM as the script fails to complete due to lack of memory. At the end I have to transfer whole website locally to my laptop and perform upgrade there as the upgrade required 2800 MB of RAM in order to complete and I was not ready to pay additional money to my hosting company to do that upgrade. If you do not know how much RAM is 2800 MB then you should know that average hosting will provide you with 256 - 780 MB of hosting.

In my case I would have to upgrade my hosting from LEVEL 3 to LEVEL 7 where LEVEL 9 is maximum. This is a bad programming, there is no way that update script should make such RAM requirement !!! After upgrade I transfered it from my laptop back to my hosting under development subdomain to test it further. As expected I found many other problems and was unable to go to production with new 4.0 version for another 2 weeks so I lost lots user registrations and resumes. To which smartjobboard responded: ##### Date: 23.10.12 You can export listings from your site and import them to v. 4.0 in xls format.

Or our developers can perform migrating new users to your 4.0 version as a customization for an additional charge. If you are interested I can transfer this ticket to our Sales Department for a review and assessment. Ticket ID: YVL-506709 Department: Support Type: Issue Status: On Hold Priority: Medium ### Today I have found another problems and gave up. I was forced to revert back o 3.3 version with no prospect of moving up. So again DO NOT BUY !!!... you have been warned...!!!
