On 8/16/12 I received a Brazilian Blowout (hair straightening) from Vianey at Smscolour.

Within 2 weeks I decided to prepay $100.00 for another Brazilian Blowout as I was initially pleased with the results.

As of 10/15/2012 much of hair had cracked off at the root and I was losing hair and now had the hair texture of straw.  I decide to make an appointment so that I could show the employees the damage to my hair and find out if there were any potential resolutions to restore the texture.

I made an appointment online (the only way the salon takes appointments and their phone always goes to voicemail regardless) for the soonest available appointment (10/19/12) and indicated in the comments I was coming in to discuss the damage to my hair.

On 10/19/12 I showed up and spoke to Vianey and she advised all she could do was a trim and that I would have to speak to the owner Sonia Soza.  I left a note for Sonia indicating I would be out of town 10/20/12-10/27/12 and that she could contact me via email to advise how to receive refund.

I returned from out of town to no emails nor missed calls and had to consistently call the salon to no avail until the week of 10/29/12 when Sonia answered and advised she would only refund $60.00.  I explained that was not acceptable, she refuted saying I wasted Vianeys time and promptly hung up before coming to an agreement saying she would have to call me back.  She never called me back.

I left a message again this week and today and then this evening she called back advising she would still only refund $60.00.  I explained this was not acceptable as I have already paid more than $150.00 out of pocket to restore my hair and I am not even asking to recoup those funds.  Nor am I asking for a refund on the initial Brazilian Blowout which was poorly executed.  She continues to deny the full refund, stating she does not know what else I could have done to my hair in the mean time.

Little does she know I have been a faithful customer at Visible Changes Salon since 2006 and my last hair appointment was prior to the Brazilian Blowout until I returned to Visible changes on 10/29/12.

I have since escalated my complaints to the Salons at JC Lincoln Heights, customer service at http://www.brazilianblowout.com/ where the salon is certified and to the BBB:
