I went to the microsoft.com website and put "abode" in the search engine to find adobe software to download so that I can scan and create pdf's.
Thinking the site was safe to download from. It has the security lock and all. I chose their get 3 years unlimited downloading and support for only $12.65 per year option plus a year of ultra fast download speeds with download accelerator plus for 1.49.
They asked for my card number, address etc. I clicked continue and without showing me the amount of my purchase before charging me they thanked me for my purchase, my total is $70.80. The membership options stated that the fees listed is a one time fee and there's no additional fees applicable.
I called the 800 phone number they provide to request a refund. The lady from SoftwareHQ said they don't handle returns over the phone that I need to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. I have not gotten a response from SoftwareHQ yet.
Fortunately, I never downloaded the software or clicked on any link that they provided! When you click on the link they send to you you've accepted their service-- Don't! Call your card provider and open a fraud claim.
Read SoftwareHQ's guarantee! This is on their web site. They don't tell you this up front like they do, by law, in department stores. I don't know if I'll ever get my money back but somebody need to stop this site.
Prosecution to the fullest extend of the law???!!! I was outraged when I read this.
