solarstirlingplant.com sells plans for a solar stirling engine that they claim produces more power than standard photovoltaic cells. Upon recieving their plans, I knew that what they were claiming was not possible because they were using a parabolic dish, which would provide to much heat, as the parts are partly ABS plastic and would melt.
Upon further reasearch, I found a website with the exact same plans given for free by the designer. Solar Stirling Power took his name off the plans and put their own on them. I contacted the rightful designer and he informed me that his plans are indeed copywrited.
He also has video of the stirling engine he designed in actual use and it doesn't generate the power claimed by Solar Stirling Plant. They ripped off his free plans and are selling them for $49.00 through their website. They are also making false claims as to how much power the engine has.

Does it work.

No, I didn't save the contact information of the original owner of the plans. He did respond to me that the company did remove his plans and used something else. It seems they hired a writer to make up something for them to sell. It didn't sound like they were really a solar company, but just have a writer throw something together that they could sell. The original plan author told me that the unit produced only milli amps and no real usable amount of power. From all my research, no stirling engine does at this time. So my advice is buy a factory built PV panel and save time and money. I will say the original company I did complain about eventually returned my money.

Do you have any contact information on the original owner/inventor of the product/machine? And exactly how much power output does the product produce? I was really thinking of building one myself but now i am not so sure. Are you sure there's any point in trying out this product?
