If you goto this paticular sonic and order the Breakfast toaster combo for their listed price of $2.99 with a tax rate of %8.25 then you should come up with a total of $3.24. However, they charge you $3.34 and refuse to look at their mistake and change it.
This is one of their most popular items at this Sonic Drive-In and if they were to charge 200 people a day this same price then they would gain an extra $20 dollars a day. Though it seems small, it adds up by the end of the month. After a month of the same amount of people each day they would have around $600 dollars more than they should have.
Their pricing is consistant and I have gone three nights in the row and each night mentioned the price to them and nothing has changed except the amount of money out of my pocket that I should still have.

There is a reson for the price difference

I have worked for a Sonic for over three years in TN.
The reason for the price difference is probably in the choice of drink. A cherry limade is ten cents more than a coke. The coke is the advertised drink for all combos. If an individual wants to change the drink from a coke to a limade or to a shake, we charge them the difference.
All the combos are a certain discount taken off the final price. This lets you customize your order the way you want it. If you want onion rings instead of fries or tator tots, we'll say that it's okay, but you still have to pay the difference.
You are supposed to always get a reciept with your order. It would have shown each item rung up individually, and the discout taken off for the combo.
The Sonic should have been more helpful. Sonics are franchised, so the quality of Sonics vary from city to city.
