Sophie thomas aka Sophie Meese Commited fraud by seling a horse that she was leasing without the owners permission Newport news Virginia

I saw a post on a facebook page that  rehomes animals. Sophie had the horse spirit up there for sale for $1000. I met with her the next day the 13th of August. I rode him once, and agreed to buying him. I put down a deposit of $360 and signed a contract. Well on the 18th of August I got hurt at work. Tore 4 ligaments in my ankle. So I couldn't drive an hour to see spirit. Well Sophie texted me saying I needed to go visit the horse more often. I explained my situation and that it was difficult for me to get around but as soon as I was better I would be around more. About three or four days later she sent me a long message saying that she was voiding the contract because I had broken the contract by not going to visit him and it was harmful to his health.

At that point she said I would not be getting a refund this occurred in the month of September after I had already paid $150 towards the horse on the first as well as board. I was extremely sad and told her that I had intentions to move him closer to me so I was going to pay him off the following week. As soon as I told her that I was giving her the money she said that she would allow me to keep them as long as I give it to her by  the following Friday.  On that day we moved spirit to another barn closer to my house. That was of course after I had given her the money and signed a contract. She trailered the horse and the new barn.after about two weeks The barn manager told me that he was biting especially around feeding time.

Also he was kicking and biting other horses. Because of his bad manners we were kicked out of that barn. So on 30 October i move him to another barn. In our contract it states that I have to tell Sophie if I move the horse. I had texted her from out of the country because I was on vacation. I texted her on the first. When I came back from vacation she stated she never received my text. I told her I wanted to sell my horse because I was getting evicted again. Due to his bad manners. He almost kicked the person that was feeding him and also bites regularly. As soon as I found out I would be evicted  again. I texted sophie immediately. I told her I want to sell the horse when she asked why I explain the situation. Then she said I had breached the contract since I didn't tell her he moved. And I told her it doesn't state a timeline of when I need to advise her.

I told her she could have the horseback as long as you paid what I paid for him she said no that there was absolutely no refund and she was going to take me to court. That point there was an altercation and I told her that I was selling him anyway after going back-and-forth she told me that it was fine and just to sell him. Then yesterday I get a Facebook message from the person who knew the original owner. The original owner called me last night.when she called she told me that she had absolutely no idea this horse is being sold. She has multiple text messages of Sophie telling her she was leasing him to me. But in the contract it states that the previous owner Jean Jackson gave her permission to sell the horse. So now I'm returning the horse to Jean but Sophie refuses to give me my money. Therefore I went to court and filed a civil suitagainst her and her husband because he was present as well. He also side off the paperwork. I also went to the police in Suffolk
