I ordered a engine for my 1999 GMC truck. I talked to Scott on March 11, 2014 to order the part. Was told by Scott it would be faster to order from the intenet if I had access to one. I said Yes and he said if you order with me it takes 30 days to process but if you order online you wil get the engine in 3 days. I got online and ordered but said 7-14 business days so I called back and was put on hold 40 minutes, Scott answered and I told him it says 7-14 business days. He said do not pay attention to that, you will have it by 3 days if you order today. So I ordered and paid for with my credit card and paid for warranty which was $95.00 and the engine was $945.00 which totaled $1,040.00. After I paid I had a e-mail with my invoice number which was 234206. Monday March 24th I called SouthWest to find out where is my engine, I called all day long and no one answered the phone. This made me very nervous. I called again on March 25th and pressed number for customer service and waited a long time maybe 40 minutes again. Scott answers and I ask him where is my engine? He tells me that it takes 7-14 business days before the engine is shipped. I said that is not what you told me and he hung up the phone. I called back and pressed code for customer service again and waited again and no one answered just recording with Scott's voice to leave a message and I did and I was very angry when I left the message and asked for the manager to call me back. March 26th called again same thing Scott hung up when I asked to speak to the manager. I called back and to my surprise he answered within a few minutes, maybe 10 or 15 minutes. He said that he is the manager so I asked to speak to the owner and he said he is in a meeting and he will transfer me to his voice message. I left about 25-30 messages that day. I have never heard from the owner at all. I kept checking my e-mail to see if engine was shipped and I seen that it was to be delivered March 27th. I was so relived when I got the tracking number. I called the company and talked to JC (friend) that I was having it delivered to so they would be on the lookout for the shipment.

Well March 27 came and went and no engine. I called R&L who they use as their freight company. I gave him the tracking #201719493 and I spoke with Randy and he had no idea where the shipment was. He said at first that it was never shipped from SouthWest and asked me to call back. I tried getting Southwest on the phone but never could get someone to answer. I called R&L back and talked to a manger at New Orleans terimal on March 28th his name was Colby at 504-246-0019 and he told me the shipment is lost. I said how can you lose a 458 pound engine??? He said when we find it we will ship it to you. I said No I do not want it after all of the trouble with the company, I said send it back. He said when they locate the package he will call me and then at that time he could log that I refused shipment. I said great...and gave him 3 numbers to reach me on. No one ever called from R&L and they delivered the engine on April 2nd a Wednesday . The company I was having the engine shipped to was doing me a favor and letting me use their business which is a forklift company. The guy that was suppose to sign for the engine (a friend of mine that works there was at lunch so the guy that signed did not know that I had all these problems and was not accepting the shipment. R&L was suppose to call me when they found my shipment and I have never heard from them. I called R&L and was told by Colby that someone should have called me!!!! Well since I did receive the engine I was just going to keep it and hoped it worked because after all my problems I had got online and found bad reviews about SouthWest Engines and R&L.

After unwrapping the engine I noticed where the exhaust manifold meets the block the bolt holes were filled with broke off studs and 3 on one side and one on the opposite side. So you cannot use the engine like this and I was told by Scott engine would be all ready to install.. I called SouthWest and talked to Joey and he said that I have to pay $350.00 re-stocking fee and ship back at my own expense which would be another $300.00. My credit card company called and talked to Joey and he said the warranty on the engine would cost me $75.00 to ship back with R&L. I do not want another engine from the, I just want my money in full back. After all the bad reviews just like my story I do not want to trust this company again.
