Spectra Merchandising Inc. Sells defective items then discontinues them so they won't have to replace them! Chicago Illinois

Well, I bought a Hello Kitty shower radio secondhand and quickly discovered the radio's am/fm dial only got am. So I took it apart to get to the little plastic part that kept rattling around inside. Well, it was a tiny little part that the dial fit into and it was cracked rendering the radio useless unless you like am all the time. So I emailed the manufacterer and explained my problem and hoped I might get a replacement part and waited for a response. I never got any! I had to finally threaten them in no uncertain terms that I would take the radio back where I found it and never again purchase their products! I finally got a response a day later. It was a rather nasty reply. It stated that the radio had been discontinued and that THERE WERE NO SPARE PARTS so they couldn't replace it! They said they were very sorry..yada yada and that was that. Well, I had to return the radio to the original owner and have since come to the conclusion that these people do not stand behind their products nor do they care about the customer. Beware of any products by this manufacturer! It took forever to get a response. When I did they were unsympathetic and rude. If you've bought an item and its been discontinued. you're out of luck! No spare parts. I suppose I could have applied some sort of epoxy and hoped for the best, but that's besides the issue. For such a tiny part and obviously an important one, it wasn't sturdily made. It was cheap plastic, given to cracking over time with constant turning of the dial. So I won't be expecting some sort of closure. I only hope to get out the message that this company puts out shoddy merchandise, doesn't care about customer service, and really could care less about you once you've bought their products. They're only in it for the money. I can only wonder why the radio was discontinued....crappy workmanship maybe? Buyer beware!!!!! There's a bad review on amazon.com for this thing.. Check it out!
