When calling Sprint PCS to attempt to break the contract due to the fact my husband and I are unable to use our cell phones both in our offices and in our home (where we obviously spend most of the time), I was informed of the $150 break in contract fee for each line. A total of $300 for my husband and I to get out of a service we essentially cannot use 80% of the time.

I asked if they gave a break to military service members thinking maybe I could find a loophole and was told no we were liable for the contract we signed just as was any other person. I felt at this point that the representative was giving me attitude as he began listing all the benefits they offer to the military; deferred payments for those deployed, etc.

All of this is great and appreciated, I told him, by those who are able to take advantage, however, we are still unable to use our phones when we want to. He snidely commented that he could see we made calls today as well as yesterday and in fact had renewed our contract about 8 months ago so obviously we were using the service.

I pointed out that I use the service any darn chance I get: in my car, at the grocery store, etc., and that the only reason we had renewed was that my husbands phone had broken and in order to get a new phone for free, we had to renew. We feel completely stuck by this company that we have now been loyal to for 4 years. Instead of apologies to unsatisfied long-time customers, we get attitude.

No effort was made to try and keep our business. We were told that we had signed a binding agreement and were obligated to keep it or else pay the penalty. This is extremely poor customer service. What about the fact that they are not keeping their end of the contract by not providing the service promised? Aren't they then the ones in breach? When did "the customer is always right" become "the major corporation is always right and screw the customer"?

Sprint can Kiss my A$$

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 02, 2005

Christina & Mark,

Sorry to hear about your crappy service with sprint! I used to have sprint until I told them to take there service or lack of to shove it wear the sun don't shine!

Sprint convinced me that I would have continuous coverage in my area of Kansas City, next to Sprint world headquarters... Well guess what? my sprint phones would not get a signal in my home or yard in the middle of Kansas City. Even driving around the city my calls were always dropped, I would call customer service and the d**n call would get dropped again! My phone was new and software was up to date and they still would not help me with no signal in my home, So I got a lawyer and She had my early termination fee dismissed.
The thing is that I know several sprint employees and even some in the PCS division that do nothing but smoke pot and drink while on lunch breaks off of company property. Sprints does not do any drug testing after they are hired, and you wonder why there service is so bad? I have sucessfully had all my friends, family, relatives, co-workers using sprint to switch to another provider.

Sprint is the worst in customer satisfaction and service bar none!

As for the lady in Flushing, New York..
You know aswell as I do when anyone switches plans or phones, Sprint automatically extends the contract another two years...and you don't tell the customer.

So Miss Sprint employee, go smoke a joint and shove your company up your A$$!

Too many excuses

First of all you made the mistake of resigning the agreement. Now your stuck with a $300 early termination fee. You previously stated that your husband had to renew to get another phone for free. Big mistake, in this case you get another phone (used from someone or off ebay) and you WAIT for your contract to end. But no, you are probably one of those people who needs a fancy phone so you chose to renew. ITS YOUR FAULT MrS! You signed the sgreement, remember that.
