I concur with Rebecca of Boca Raton, Florida, and several other persons from other websites.  My wife and I went in to renew our contract with Sprint and purchase new phones.  The sales person pushed two tablets on us insisting that they were free.  I said no thanks to the tablets because I felt there had to be a charge.  I had even checked the Sprint website before going to the store, and saw where the website said there were fees for the tablets. But the salesman insisted there was no charge, and they were giving the tablets away for being loyal customers. We relented. Big mistake on our part.

We essentially are paying for wireless phone line service for two tablets, which at the end of the two year contract will come to $540 more than what we would have paid, if we had not taken the tablets. We probably will not use them as wireless devices, that's what our cell phones are for, so essentially we will have paid the retail price for the tablets.  I could have returned the tablets, but then the Sprint store was going to charge us a $150 restocking fee due immediately, and then we would have zero to show for it.  Our mistake was trusting the Sprint Representative at the start of this fiasco.

The Tablets are FREE

AUTHOR: Stacey - (USA)

The service is not - I got one and I knew from the get go the price for getting the tablet.  I pay about 10.00 extra a month for the service and I really enjoy my tablet.  And NO I do not work for them.  YOU did NOT have to get the tablets period.

While the adage of there is no such thing as a free lunch IS true, the tablets themselves are free. The SERVICE for them is NOT. YOU can contact Sprint and have them drop your data plan on the tablets to the MINIMUM needed to run them while away from WiFi. Other then that, you haven't been ripped off. YOU have the tablets. YOU have to pay for the service to use those tablets and that is all. Sprint customer service MAY be able to help you get those tablets off your plan but you wont know until YOU call them. DO NOT go back to the store!! It was probably a franchise meaning THEY can make their own rules so long as those rules DO NOT impact Sprint rules.
