Sprint supplied a link on their site to verify my corporate affiliation for a 15% discount. After verifying my employment, they sent me to a site that had my company name on the top of every page. By the end of the order, it didn't show my discount, but said it would be on my first bill. I called the 1-800, who confirmed this was true.

When my first bill came, there was no discount. I talked to the online chat person, who told me that I chose a plan that didn't qualify for the 15% discount. After complaining that they didn't explain this, I asked to cancel. They responded that I would have to call the 1-800 to cancel. The 1-800 number told me that the online chat was incorrect and that my plan DOES qualify for a discount. I just had to re-verify my employment and it would be in my next bill. I reverified my employment and got a confirmation email.

When my next bill came, it was still missing my 15%. I tried complaining by email. They responded that they can't do anything retroactively (but didn't say anything else about PRO-actively). When I called the 1-800, they explained that it just takes a few months. Against my better judgement, I gave them 2 more billing cycles. When I still didn't have the discount, I called the 1-800 again. They simply told me that my "account" had the 15% discount all along, but that my plan doesn't qualify.

Needless to say, I must have spoken to either incompetent employees or they outright lied to get rid of me. I now get to see what recourse I have to cancel my contract with them.

Pay

You have no other recourse other then paying the ETF. You can try and fight it but the wireless carriers have gotten pretty good at fighting this. Youre best bet is to try and contact Sprint Corporate Offices. As I understand Sprints pricing plans, ALL of their PERSONAL plans allow for a business discount. The business lines are not. So that may be where the issue is. Either way, you may have indeed already been given the discount, but realistically your complaining about $15-20. If cash is THAT tight, might I suggest maybe Boost prepaid. Atleast they have shrinkage.

Other then either paying the ETF or taking the hit on your credit report you dont have many options. Sprint is the only one with unlimitted data, just be a "Super user". Most ppl only use around 2-3 gb per month. If you double or triple that in your regular use, then you will cost them money. SO you would be ahead overall. I have unlimited data on Verizon and I abuse the hell out of it. My average is anywhere from 50-70gb a month.
