Square Inc. April Harper, Edmond, Oklahoma Theft of services and refusal to reverse chargebacks Internet

In July of this year my company presented a workshop in San Antonio, Texas.  One of the attendees, April Harper of Edmond, Oklahoma paid by credit card at the workshop.  We used the Square credit card reader to process the card.

At the end of the workshop Ms. Harper claimed that the workshop was not what it was claimed to be and filed a chargeback on her card.  Square Inc. debited the original registration fee and refunded her money without consultation with us.  We refuted the claim, presented hard evidence that the workshop was as represented and Square put the money back into our account.  Ms. Harper once again filed chargeback requests with Square Inc. and they again took the money from our account.  This has resulted in several hundred dollars in bank service fees.

Ms. Harper had no problem attending the workshop, eating and drinking the refreshments provided and paid for by my company AND taking all the handouts and materials provided.  This alone constitutes theft of services as well as theft of intellectual property on her part and fraud on the part of Square Inc.

Do not use the Square card reader service as you seem to have no recourse when a customer wants to cheat you.
