The buyer replaced the gold setting we sent them with silver and lied to eBay that we sent him the wrong item.
On May 14, the buyer (Staci Hendrickson | User ID: sthendr34) purchased a 1.51ct Simulated Diamond mounted on 14k White Gold Classic Solitaire for $400$. We ship the item to the buyer via USPS (Tracking #92001901755477000588342030) along with the original certificate report from AGI (Report #04MREB1E9LZ3028660LC).
On May 19, the buyer received our package and started compiling that the stone looks like a 1ct.
We answered the customer that besides the AGI certificate, the stone also has a dimension of 1.5ct, and it's impossible to have 1ct with that dimension.
On May 29, the buyer opened a case on eBay and kept insisting that we sent him a smaller diamond, and they want a refund (Case #5269853358 Return ID #5183951404).
We have been an eBay seller since 2009 and a 3rd generation family-owned business in the diamond industry. Every item we sell comes with an independent gemological report and/or appraisal report.
It is important to mention that the buyer did not submit any written professional proof from an independent gemologist that the stone we sent is not 1.51ct.
Later that day, we have replayed the buyer to ship us the ring back for a full refund.
On Jun 10, we received a package from the buyer. The package was in excellent condition, meaning no one opened it or damaged it on the way back.
When we opened the package, we instantly noticed that it's not the original ring we sent to the buyer, and instead, the buyer sent us a fake silver.
Later that day, we notified eBay about that incident, and eBay asked us to file a police report.
On Jun 15, we received the report from AGI laboratories in New York. AGI stated in their report that the ring is indeed silver and appraised it for $25. (See AGI Report# 04MREB876387642LCS).
On Jun 24, we file a police report at the Central District Miami Police Department stating the buyer replace a diamond with cubic zirconia (See Case #2106240041225).
