Following my initial enquiries re: Stanford Who's Who in February 2011, , I was immediately contacted by one Sarah Nately, who sweet-talked me into signing up (over the phone) for a Gold membership.

Total cost for the membership included a listing with my CV in their directory, an inscribed glass plaque, an airline voucher, and a Black Book Directory listing all members and contacts was $1,395.95 USD.

The membership was implemented with my CV listed, and the airline voucher was mailed to me, but I have not used it.  The inscribed glass plaques wa also mailed to me.  Three enquiries I made regarding the Black Book were always answered with same "It will be published in the latter half of the year due to publication delays."  2011 came and went, but the Black Book never arrived.

In January 2012, I emailed the company commplaining that I believed I'd been taken, and that all I had received for my $1,395.95 was a glass plaque, an airline voucher (not used), and a directory listing from which I got only one feeler by a "supposed" member who did not reply to my reply note. I made a request for a refund of my financial outlay.

In response to my email, I was repeatedly contacted by Stanford's Customer Relations, but being previously "bitten" by dealing with this company over the phone, I refused to enter into a phone discussion with them, knowing that there would be no record of the discussion.  To date, they have not replied to my complaint in writing.

I feel that I have been financially raped!  This has been the height of scamming that I have ever been exposed to in my life, and there has to be legal recourse available to those of us who are not in a financial position to proceed with the traditional ways of getting restitution.

I would appreciate hearing from any sources as to how I can ensure that justice is served.
