It all started when I received in the mail an envelope from Starcrest of California with many offers for merchandise in it. I have ordered from them in the past and looked through and decided on =multiple purchases for a total of $180. I only ordered $140 worth and wrote a check for that amount and mailed the order off. The check cleared my bank on May 5, 2006 and that is the last I heard or the order. For the past few days I had visions of this being a ripoff. It was just a feeling I had and then looked up Starcrest of California and saw the many issues on ripoffs about this company. At this point I do believe I have been had by them.

I can understand your concern about the extreme amount of time that transpires from order date to date of receipt, as I have ordered from Starcrest many times but, not to worry! I have never not received merchandise or were sent incorrect/ omitted items. I enjoy their catalog as I am an avid "junk-store" junkie. Though not junk, I will admit that some of their merchandise is somewhat of a lesser quality than hoped, but their prices are incredible.
However, that is no different than when you walk into your local dollar store and purchase something that falls apart almost immediately. The only difference with Starcrest of California is that, as a consumer, we are unable to rely on the convenience of getting in our cars and driving it back to place of purchase for instant gratification insofar as replacement or refund. We must go through the headache of returning the item and waiting, again, for what I imagine also to be an extreme amount of time.
Personally, I will continue shopping with them, as many people have mentioned, for their awesome off-the-wall merchandise that can be found nowhere else, and I hope others will as well. I simply do not ever expect to receive my "goodies" very quickly.
