Starion has been charging their variable rate customers 22 cents per kWh and their fixed rate customers .0927. Apparently I had a variable rate contract (though I can't find any paperwork). I understand paying a "premium" to not be locked into a contract, but charging MORE than DOUBLE is just price-gouging! I'd expect to pay maybe a couple cents more, not double.

Here's a summary of the rates charged in the last six months. My local utility was charging ~.09 during this time period:

10/22/2013 - 11/20/2013: .1299

11/20/2013 - 12/20/2013: .1399

12/20/2013 - 01/23/2014: .1897

01/23/2014 - 02/19/2014: .1997

02/19/2014 - 03/19/2014: .2197

03/19/2014 - 04/18/2014: .2197

The theives got me for 10 Months at the outrageous rate of .23 per KWH When I ask how did I get switched to a varible rate I was told they send out a post card that looks like junk mail to inform you your fix rate contract has encded. That most people don't even look at this was told to me by one of there employees.
