So, I needed a new motor for my truck due to a major failure.  The garage took a good while doing the work (months and months)  but I finally get itback and drive. M registration was about due to be renewed and I didnt get a renewal.  There was a flag on the vehicle registration for emissions testing which never got done.  So I go to get it done under the new engine which had a check engine issue.  I reset the circuit before going in but the light came back on.  The test center says they cant test due to insufficient data and to drive it a while. The extended my test date.

I then take drive it a while and this time reset the computer after some adjustments by me and take it in and again not enough data to test. They extend it again. They tell me it has to fail before I can get a waiver.  I take it to my mechanic and ask him to look at it. He does some other work while he has it but $1200 later  (450 in emissions work)  I get it back and the light comes on again. I need to get it in for the deadline so I take it in to get it at least failed.  and it does. It fails. With the failed code now and the receipts they tell me I need the mechanic to fill the forms out. I leave and go to get that done. I am extended yet again.

The mechanic does his part, I do mine, and take it in with all the papers and now no waiver becuase I didnt pay $450 for this cycle of two years. It gets credited for the last two years and that period is over.

I want to also note I got a different person at the site each time.  In one case the testing technician talked to me like apolice officer.  "DRIVER TURN OFF THE VEHICLE"..."DRIVER GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE"... DRIVER STEP OVER THERE,,,etc etc.  What is this COPS?

Well, now I am calling the customer service line to no avail. They called me back but I didnt pick up in time and in calling THEM back they have no idea who it was who tried to call me.  Whats going to happen is my physically going there. I can forsee this coming and my taking my time from work to so. I dont know about anyone else but in what my time is worth at my age is considerable and I have taken several hours in visits to mechanics, testing centers, fines, being on hold, etc.  that its simply not worth it to deal with the State of Maryland.  I ahve property in West Virginia and I know how to use it.

I am also one of the people being taxed for the RAIN.

My mechanic is pretty much useless and I am opting to take this to a dealer and if they cant fix this issue the vehicle will sit and rot.
