After being called from this collection agency whom threated violence to me and my husband, I called the person whom initated this collection and asked what the problem was. Mr Fisher threatened my family, home, and my credit report! He blurted out our social security numbers all throughout his office and made these threats there too! It has been awhile since I spoke with him and I had to call him back today (10-17-07) at first he was polite, until I told him the person initiating the collection was on the other line and I will call him back....on the call back, I explained we (the person initating the collection) might resolve the problem due to a missing payment.....AND HE FREAKED!!!! He then told me that his company put the collection on my credit and his company must remove it....as he said which will never happen even if the missing payment is found! I dont see how people can operate a business like this. I am starting with ripoff.com but I am also considering speaking with an attorney about the threats and my private information that was screamed out to everyone in the office! Can people really treat people like this? If so what is America coming to?

Well I did indeed call the local sheriffs office and the officer came to my house, called the person in question, got into a screaming match with the person, and simply said there was nothing I could do it was all hear-say! The officer got into his vehicle, my neighbor came running over to the officers' car handing him a phone, later to find out that was Mr. Fisher on my neighbors phone representing himself as the SGT. or CPTN. of the officer at my home. The officer did nothing and just left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG.

Sounds like you can press assault or aggravated assault charges to start off with against the collector and his company. Also report them to fair credit reporting bureau as well.
