Steve Anderson Showcase Auto Paint & Body Shop Most Amazing Ripoff of All Time in Texas Conroe, Texas

We heard this story and were totally disgusted and appalled, as well as amazed.

A woman with 3 small children was evicted from her home because the landlord decided he wanted to sell the house and had a buyer. He hired some 'movers' to move all of her stuff out (taking what they wanted to, leaving what they wanted to for anyone to take.  This included hundreds of dollars of food - she has photos).  He left her homeless with nowhere to go. READ THIS STORY.

'Never mind the five e-mails that I received from the Property Manager, saying that it was going to cost me $500.00 to get my stuff back. I finally find the place where all of my stuff was taken from a notice on the door with name and address of where they took it.  When I went there "Steve", the owner of Show Case Auto Paint and Body shop, informed me that I owed him $2900.90, but said that he didn't have an inventory sheet.  The copy he gave me was part of a carbon copy and it was very conveniently blank. Their "storage" bill breaks down as follows:

Moving Truck chrg 1 day $175.00 + another Moving Truck chrg 1 day $175.00

Moving Materials and equipment $400.00 (What moving equipment? A Dolly?)

One Supervisor 13 hours @ $50.00 per hour = $650.00 + Four Helpers 13 hours each @ $20.00 per hour = $1,040  (How many hours?? Come On. Dont know of ANY movers who make this hourly wage, do you?)

Administration Fee @ $250.00   (For WHAT?)

Storage per calendar day 30 day minimum = $300.00   (Remember it is NOT a Storage its someones shop)

When I scaped together the money and went back in to make a $1,000 payment, my new balance was then $2,790.00. (Ridiculous)  Then after making another payment of $500.00 my new balance is $2,690.00. (someone obviously cannot add and subtract)

This man owns a body shop, not a storage facility. Doesnt he have to be bonded and insured to be able to act as a storage facility?

I have had numerous people tell me this is "Extortion" - but to whom do I report it to and how do I get our things back?  Because of this horrendous nonsense, CPS came in and took my children because we were in a hotel and I had no furniture or things to care for them.  My life has become a living hell and nightmare because of these people.
