Stoneleigh Recovery Associates, LLC ,Russell Wallace Unfair, harassing, deceptive, and illegal debt collection practices Lombard Illinois

Mr. Wallace from Stoneleigh has been calling and harassing me about a potential debt that my boyfriend has. He has my boyfriend's phone number, and my boyfriend has been playing telephone tag with him for a few days, but Mr. Wallace continues to call and harass me. I asked him to please not call and reminded him of the FTC prohibition on harassing friends and family of debtors, and he starting yelling on the phone. He also said my boyfriend has a pending judgment against him (not true, and we have received no legal notice of such thing), and thus far has refused to send the notice of the amount owed as required by the FTC (the FTC requires this notice to be sent within 5 days of first contact).

My boyfriend is attempting to resolve the debt issues, but Mr. Wallace and Stoneleigh & Associates are impossible to work with. In fact, I believe they are so accustomed to using these improper practices that they become furious when you request them to act professionally or mention anything about standard procedures and rights - they prefer ignorant clients they can bully.

We requested the collection agency (Credit Max) that holds the debt to transfer it to another collector, but they said they outsource all the actual collection work and have a contract with Stoneleigh for this debt for an unspecified amount of time - even though we shared with them his improper practices.
