Stores On Line Ripoff FAST TALKING PUSHY SELL MORE SERVICES EASY TO DO DON'T NEED YOUR OWN COMPUTER NEED LITTLE COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE MAKE BIG MONEY OREM UTAH
Showed us convincing presentation using lap top computer. Made it look easy to set up store front. Talked a lot about getting supplier to drop ship the merchandise for you.
Made it look easy to find supplier to do that. Customer orders merchandise, it comes through your account, customer pays your account with credit card, you process order, supplier drop ships the order and draws their money from your account to pay for it and the shipping. Balance in your account, is your profit.
Talked about reverse search tool and how you can find keywords, or phrases, customers used but were unsuccesful in finding what they want. You can submit those to the search engine, to attach to your website, so when someone uses it again, they will get your website. You may be only website that comes up so makes it more likely you will make a sale.
Near the end of the presentation, tried to sell us 3 internet store fronts but encourage us to buy up to 6 internet store fronts. We get a discounted price because we attended seminar.
Gave us a presentation later about selling on E-Bay and tricks to do it. Pressured us into buying more services to assist us when trying to sell on E-Bay and on our internet store fronts.
I ended up buying 6 store fronts but did not have a credit card to put the $6198 cost on. Wanted $310 down and they could finance it through another party, Universal Account Services. Terms were 2 years @ 18% and monthly payments of $293.95.
Emphasized how EASY it is to do and you only have to commit 1-2 hours a day to it. You don't even need a computer or a lot of computer knowledge. You can use a computer in an internet cafe etc.
A company will contact us after the seminar about using 1 or all of our storefronts for their product. Received phone call from Rick at MServe to use my store fronts. He wanted to put one of their products on each of my 6 store fronts. More money to do that.
Rick was extremely pushy. Wanted $45 set up fee,$14.95/month for them to list with search engines each month, or we could do it ourself, $24.95/month hosting fee, (first one payable 1 week after setting up the store front) This was for each store front!!!
Next I got a call from someone wanting about $1,400 (not sure of exact figure) to set up S-Corporation in Nevada. Told them I don't have that kind of money to put out right away and wasn't interested. (A friend, who did it, set up an S-Corporation himself on the internet for around $20).
Got a call from someone wanting me to join a Tax Club (for a fee of course)to learn how to avoid taxes. Told them too about not having money and not going to join.
Due to my situation and other committments, didn't try setting up the first store front until middle of this past July. Found out screens completely different than they showed us at seminar or was on the Bootcamp DVD and in the getting started booklet with our kit.
A lot more difficult, and time consuming, than they want you to believe, especially if you have dial-up internet.
Kit had 2 "Bootcamp" DVD's to show us how to set up our store fronts. DVD seemed to talk more about selling our own product and not getting a supplier to drop ship their product for us. The guy on the DVD was the guy that sells Wheat Grass Kits at Wheatgrasskits.com.
I had a lot of problems setting up my first store front and also finding a supplier, who would drop ship what I wanted to sell, from their list. I wanted to sell upholstery supplies.
I was very frustrated so decided to call Rick back at MServe on Wed 8/2/06 to get one store front set up. I told him I didn't like it the first time that he was so pushy. This time he wasn't too bad and we agreed to put, "SIMPLY SPLENDID GIFT BASKETS", on one of my store fronts.
I made arrangements for them to deduct the $45 + $14.95 from my checking account using my VISA check card and they were supposed to deduct the $24.95, for the first month hosting fee 1 week later.
They sent me confirmation e-mail and how to go on and look at the website for my store front. When Rick set things up, he never asked for the License/Certificate #, of the store front, which I thought was odd.
Tried to get into the website using my username and password they gave me but couldn't get in. Instead, I find the Ripoff website. Since I had 3 days to cancel with MServe, I sent it in writing to cancel.
MServe was supposed to take out $59.95 from my checking account but took out $30 and $15 and tried to take out the $24.95, which wasn't supposed to come out for a week.
The $24.95 didn't clear due to a misunderstanding at my financial institution. I had just gotten Kwik Cash on my checking account and the $24.95 should have cleared.
I called MServe's customer support #800-853-7381 to see why they tried to take out the $24.95 right away. Their customer support must be in India due to the accent of the person answering the phone. Difficult to understand him/her and they didn't sound very familiar with MServe.
I already invested $2,371.60, as of 8/3/06, on the internet store fronts and $45 with MServe. I sent a letter to Stores On Line telling them I want to cancel the 6 store fronts and that I found it a lot more difficult then they told us at the seminar. I told them I didn't want to invest the time it seems to take to do this and that I was very uneasy about the whole thing.
I know I'll lose money on this mistake but hopefully will get some of it back. I still owe Universal Account Services the balance of the loan but just cannot pay on it right now. Am hoping Stores On Line gives me at least enough money back to pay Universal Account Services off.
This, along with a drop in my income, has caused me to be way behind in my rent and other bills. Luckily my landlord hasn't pushed me to pay but I need to start paying him so I get caught up.
Usually I am reluctant to invest in something like this knowing it's probably a scam but why I let myself fall for this I don't know. I have filed a complaint with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture Trade and Consumer Protection and they are going to investigate but they have a large back log of complaints so I don't know when they will get to mine.
