Straight Delivery Moving And Storage False estimates, holding belongings hostage, terrible scamming business! Jamaica New York

This company has caused personal and financial ruin for me this year. I hired this Straight Delivery moving and storage out of Jamaica NY to move my belongings to Florida from Connecticut. I was given a verbal estimate of $1100. On the day of the move they packed up my belongings and charged me $3500! I gave them $800 on the spot.

I immediately contacted the company to complain and try to straighten this out. I spoke with a man by the name of Nick Rucci. He assured me he would check it out and get back to me. This of course never happened and I called repeated to find out what kind of price we could work out. I was continously put off and ignored. They never returned my calls or tried to work with me. He finally told me that $3500 was the actual price. From there they put my things in storage because I told them I could not afford that price at the time.

Now, 7 months later. I am finally receiving my goods from these people. Now they have additionally charged me storage fees. I have ended up paying $4300 for what was estimated as a $1100 move. Not only that, I was forced to pick up my things instead of having the company deliver them. That would have added an additional $1000!

Not only that, half of my things are broken. I am furious with this company and I am looking to do something about it. I am interested in started a lawsuit against this company. I have also been recently informed by the DOT that they are going out of business. These people must pay for what they have done to so many people. If anyone is interested in starting a lawsuit, please inform me so that we can get the ball rolling and get justice for ourselves.
