Student Relations INC is a advertising company who hires sales reps where ever they have contracts with schools to go out and sell ads for there sports teams and or educational folders for the schools. Well I sold plety of ads for them over about a few months. All was great until I realized nothing was getting distributed to the institutions as promised, therfor ripping off everyone I sold ads to. They only distributed products to the businesses who purchased ad space. Usually less that 20 Copies printed and distributed per school. Great deal huh!! Well I contacted them and let them know I was going back into my real estate career with Century 21 and they then the following day stopped payment on my last paycheck for over $600.00. I now just to prove a point am working on contacting all school that i had contracts with to cancel there lifetime contracts that SR INC. con the schools into signing as well as obviously going after my money. Hoping that they enjoy paying the attorney fees and losing plenty of business. And as for me, I signed no Independent distributor agreement with them ever, and they never had my social for tax purposes so best of luck to that lovely company. As far as I know Louis Victor made mostly all decisions for the company as well as Mike Martoe. And cracked tons of momma jokes when I called about my paycheck. What a clown

POSTED: Monday, December 20, 2010

Look out folks, it looks like Louis Victor and Student Relations have changed their name but are up to the same old tricks. I found an online job posting and applied last week. Today I recieved a call from Louis Victor representing TCB Advertising (www.tcbusa.com) offering what sounds like the same job they offered through Student Relations Inc. Also, if you look at both companies websites you will notice a lot of similarities (i.e. same videos, and in the fine print at the bottom, the same address in Delray Beach, FL). I guess all the rip-off scam reports online didn't stop them, they just changed their name. I tried Googling TCB and didn't find anything, but when I Googled the street address I found Student Relations and then a lot of complaints and rip-off reports.

research and evidence

AUTHOR: muziksdreamer - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 01, 2009

i spoke to these guys recently about starting their "sports marketing" program-  one, i didn't go to college and study Sports Management and Communications to sell advertisements on a High School school folder or calendar and that is certainly not SPORTS marketing. and two- my friend also applied and we got the same "line" from louis about our resumes... something about how good it was and he couldn't believe we had written them for ourselves.. way to expose your fakeness right off the back!

After speaking with louis and having a really good laugh about how ridiculous it all was- I came on here to check out the validity of the company. They told me they printed folders for two schools I attended and one I previously worked at, I've never seen any folders with any ads on them at those schools, just the official school sponsored folders with school official logos.

I was surprised to find several rebuttals from the owner- I have viewed rip off report before and never saw an owner respond, which just really makes me think they were worried about the comments that people were leaving. If someone needs to defend themselves and try to convince us that people would only do this out of anger and then belittle the site its clear that they are concerned.  I know more people who would only find it necessary to get on the computer and write up a report if they really felt like they were wronged and wanted to prevent others from falling to the same perils. He goes on to talk trash about the owners of the site and downplaying the importance of people being able to get the truth out in the open for others to see.

I was so tickled by his remarks and wondered if they really did have a good BBB rating- so i did look it up.  Looks like they have only been a member of the BBB since February of 2008, so in a little more than a year and a half they have managed to have 13 complaints, 7 of which involved agreeing to perform in accordance with their contract. This means that 13 people could not get their issues resolved and either did a lot of research because honestly no one uses the BBB these days, or contacted some kind of legal council who instructed them to try going through the BBB before it had to go to legal action.  I cant imagine how many people in their early 20s were ripped off and not knowing how to handle their slick talking, could make no headway and didn't even think to file a complaint with BBB.

And, if they have been in business for 30+ years.. why only in the BBB for just over one?  Or is it is as someone suggested, that they changed their name to evade the truth about their actions???

SOOOOOO even though they claimed that they had no affiliation with Students of America, I looked them up on BBB and they are listed at the same address.  How could that be???

When you click on the links, there are 3 listed- two direct you back to the student relations site, even though they are listed under Students of America.  One of them has a different address in Boynton Beach, which is one town over from delray where they are currently located.

And guess what??  I found the answer to why they wouldn't want to be associated with their former name of Students of America-- they have an FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF rating from the BBB.  They had 10 complaints, 7 unanswered and 3 of them compliance issues with their own contract.  The BBB says this about businesses with F ratings:

Company Rating F

Our opinion of what this rating means:
We strongly question the companys reliability for reasons such as that they have failed to respond to complaints, their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the laws licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations, or the companys industry is known for its fraudulent business practices.

No matter what- they have been caught in one lie and if I was a lawyer I would see that as a first step in establishing that they are not trustworthy.  I think all the reps should put together a list of schools they contacted- if we can contact the schools and get statements that they do not want these folders, that will help your case as well.

I learned from the corporate world that the easiest way companies stay out of trouble is by changing the names or having a parent company buy them out on paper.  Its kind of gross- I'm sorry that so many people were not paid wages and so glad that I did not accept the position.

I hope you all get your funds returned to you or sue the crap out of these people-

AUTHOR: Student Relations, Inc - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 06, 2009

Listen folks, you don't stay in business for as long as we have, maintain an exceptional BBB rating and continue to renew over 100,000 business merchants annually by misleading and trying to hurt people.

The folks who post negative comments (some are really OUTRAGEOUS) here know that they can without being edited or held accountable for their words or actions. Therefore, if you are considering joining us, then read this nonsense and decide otherwise (even though we maintain a stellar record with the Better Business Bureau), then maybe you're not for us. We will be happy to address these crazy posts on an individual basis, but will never lend credibility to their content.

Just think, have you ever lost your job or got caught stealing from your company or broke the rules and policies of the organization you work with and got penalized- or even terminated? Have you ever just decided that a job wasn't for you and just disappeared? Without any notice at all? (Is that professional?) Some of you might have. Some of you might have thought you did nothing wrong (denial). That's ok, to. It happens. My question is, how would you expect that company to react? Should they break their own rules and policies in your favor just so you don't post a negative comment on a tabloid website?

Well, this forum is the perfect place for disgruntled folks like that to come in and attempt to destroy a company's name and reputation - without consequence. Whether the content is true or not. We've all lost a job before. Ask yourself these questions, a.) would you take the time to come here and post lies and unquantified allegations - just because you're mad? - or would you just move on and seek other employment. b.) ask yourself about some of the outrageous content contained in some of these posts? Does it make any sense? Don't they all sound alike? Maybe too much alike?

As I mentioned earlier and also in one of these posts in this forum, anyone can say ANYTHING about anyone here - unedited and unsubstantiated. Even the Editor of this site - who could not ever be reached by phone - responded when we posted the 'F' rating/s that this very site and its' aliases maintain on the Arizona BBB. Look it up. His response was, 'The reason for our negative BBB record is the many lawsuits against us....etc.' Is this true? Who knows? He further went on to suggest to us that the only way to make these 'outrageous lies' and 'false allegations' work in our favor was to respond 'positively' to them. Look it up. It's here somewhere. POSITIVELY! Have you read some of this stuff? It's mind-boggling! Lastly, and in a very cavalier tone he mentioned that these comments would become part of our permanent online record and would never ever be removed (it's not their policy). He even dared us to sue him (we did not). We didn't even file a complaint. What would that solve? Ed Madgsen, the Editor of this site seems to be a disgruntled ex-employee or customer himself - and we are sorry for that. Unfortunately, he should have sued the entity that mistreated him. Instead, he created nothing short of an online version of 'The National Enquirer'. This site may help a few folks who got screwed over and have no resources or recourse, but it has damaged the reputation of far many EMPLOYERS, making it harder to recruit good, decent people in these tough economic times. We're offering opportunities for good people to join our firm and earn $75k during their first year putting them and their families in a better economic position.

********Attention to all Folks considering a position with our Firm*************

We are a Nationwide Firm and have publishing contracts with over 9,000 Institutions. We have well over 125,000 customers nationally. We currently operate in 41 of the 50 states. We maintain an exceptional rating with the Better Business Bureau. Look it up. Some of these stories here on this site are simply out of touch with reality. It's as if a 4 year old broke a Cardinal House Rule and threw an out of control temper tantrum. They'll say and do anything.

Here, on this site, is the perfect example.

Have a Blessed 2009,

Mike Martoe

ALMOST TOO MANY LIES AND FALSE ALLEGATIONS TO RESPOND TO!

AUTHOR: Student Relations, Inc - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, January 24, 2008

A comment mentioned above that is simply not accurate is that Student Relations, Inc. (www.nationalstudentrelations.org) is AKA 'Students of America'. Student Relations, Inc. has no affiliation with a 'Students of America'. Separate entities sharing one common name in the business title - that's all. All one needs to do is check the South Florida BBB: http://www.bbbsoutheastflorida.org/BBBWeb/Forms/Business/CompanyReportPage_Expository.aspx?CompanyID=11011302.
We do not have any aliases.

We operate in 41 different states across the nation. This includes NJ. We have no complaints registered with any of the organizations mentioned above except for 6 complaints registered with the South Florida BBB from merchants and all were handled professionally and resolved in our favor. We did the right thing.

The bottom line is anyone can post whatever they want here - truth or false. Some of the 4-5 people who posted false allegations against us in this forum never even worked with us or worked with us for a few weeks, then disappeared. Now, that's pretty shady to us. No notice. Not returning our materials. Not following our simple policies and procedures all outlined in a short document titled, 'Independent Distributor Agreement' - which they sign when they start. We're not a fly-by-night organization and we do have policies and procedures, like any company.

As in any business, you can't please everyone by telling them what they want to here. Heck, you can look up this very site, Ripoff Report on the Arizona BBB and see that they have at least 3 aliases and all have unsatisfactory reports (see: http://data.phoenix.bbb.org/commonreport.html?bid=27004436&language=1&bureau=&bbbid=) and (http://data.phoenix.bbb.org/commonreport.html?bid=3008667&language=1&bureau=&bbbid=). #4 UPDATE EX-employee responds

More Nonsense

AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, January 17, 2008

I too worked for them and so far, have not gotten paid. The run-around continues, people "on Vacation" "out of the office" "missing forms". I was faxed a copy of a contract to sign, after the fact and after I resigned. The contract is in fact illegal and most of it and the companies rules are illegal and unenforcable and in the companies opinion gives them carte blanche to either NOT pay you or stop payment on your commission check for violation of said rules. They rely on a constant pool of new, inexperienced people to dupe into the role of salespeople. I was looking for something to do while finding a serious job and should have known better from the start, but I thought I would give it a go, since I wasn't doing anything at the time.

I can only imagine the number of people who simply gave up trying to get their commission checks, or fell for Louis or Mike's double-talk nonsense and took a lesser commmission amount then was actually due. Look, Louis and Mike and gang are very smooth operators and sociopaths who take advantage of people's good nature and who truly wish to suceed and do well. I can't imagine the amount of money these characters have made, I'm sure it is in the millions, they have been at it for a long time and are a pair of sharks, very smooth, very non-emotional, I think they really get off on the con and they are making millions. They will simply dissolve this company and start again when the heat get too hot.

These guys are no stranger to lawsuits and Attorney General investigations, their not scared of that crap, it's just a part of doing business. This white-collar crime is a very low priority with law enforcement, and even if caught, they will get a slap on the wrist and a small fine. These guys are smart, and in some ways it's actually funny and ballsy. They found a way to make a fortune, not get caught or in much trouble and live a great lifestyle...it's the American Dream!!! Listening to Louis on the phone is actually funny...if he didn't owe me money. Nothing fazes this guy, he could calmly eat a ham sandwich while his family was being slaughtered in front of him, he would probably even ask the killers to "pass the salt".

Listen, If I ever have a scam product or idea to market, I'm calling these guys wheather they owe me money or not. Can't you just picture them selling Used cars somewhere? It's probably how they got their start.

What a shocker...they ripped other peolple off as well

AUTHOR: Brian - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, December 22, 2007

I read your report and they did the same to me as well as shorting me $688. It took this report as well as (see my report) to get partiallt paid. Lewis Victor pulled those stupid "mother" jokes with me too. Not quite a "professional" organization. I have already been contacted by a few merchants wondering where are the folders? I am also going to contact the schools involved to warn them about doing future business with SRI. The funny thing is they used go under the name Students of Amercica and I guess after dozens of complaints they just dissolved that corporation and continued using a new name. Don't be shocked if this happens again. Good luck and you have permission to contact me for more information.
