Oh boy, where to begin? I can't attest to their services, but if you are hired by them to do anything BEWARE! They hired us (after 2 other web development compaines I found out later) to "finish" what seemed like a relatively straight forward web project. John Bermel provided a task list and we quited the work. !/2 to start, and 1/2 to finish. We presented them with the contract that also clearly stated NO REFUNDS.

In the beginning, things went smooth. John Bermel and Yma Bermel complained about their previous web developer saying he was a crook. Being that we have been the follow up developers on projects before, we generally take these with a grain of salt. We continued into the project and John Bermel of The Patient Shop started making other requests not in the initial scope of work. We would provide an estimate and then he would pay, without question. We continued on.

As we continued the web project, he started asking for more and more changes, requests, etc. I would tell them that this would likely push back any completion date that we had estimated, but he would want it completed.

As time moved on, they hired a project manager, which was great. She did a good job of filtering his requests and was a welcome messenger. We were able to work through things much easier as John Bermel was always scattered and would want one thing only to provide a whole different request after the initial request was completed.

John Bermel of the Patient Shop started to get more and more antsy to finish the project, and I undertood the urgency. We had several conversations where he would complain about the deadlines and I would rebut with the amount of additional requests he has made, stating they all take additional time, which pushes the project back. He clearly doesn't know anything about web design or what is required.

Upon completing the main part of the project, their website at thepatientshop.com, I got confirmation from the project manager that all looked good and that she would be running it through John Bermel and Yma Bermel, the owners of The Patient Shop and Studio 7457 Inc. They do dental office marketing. I also made note that the second part of their project, to modify wordpress website themes, was running into some issues due to the outrageous changes they wanted to make to the themes. This resulted in issues on updating, issues with responsive nature, etc. All which they didn't feel they needed to pay for. I told them that we should come up with a monthly maintenance plan so we could make sure these themes were updated correctly. The project manager said she would run it by John Bermel.

COMMUNICATION STOPS and we received no more communication from John Bermel, Yma Bermel, The Patient Shop or Studio 7457 Inc. It wasn't until 2 weeks that we receive an email from Yma Bermel and The Patient Shop stating they feel they do not need to pay the remaining $3,000 dollars because of the delays. We asked for the money again before contacting a collections agency in Las Vegas Nevada.

The credit collections agency pretty much said we will never see the remaining balance and that they feel John Bermel and the patient shop had no intentions of paying.

To add to the insult, The Patient Shops owners, John Bermel and Yma Bermel REVERSED all payments to us through their credit card company. Even after sending tons of emails, contract details, etc. Their buyer protection was no match. We watched as thousands of dollars left our paypal account until we decided paypal was pretty much the worst processing company online (with so many other available options) and Closed the account.

MORAL OF THE STORY -

Don't trust John Bermel or Yma Bermel - they are crooks. They had no idea what a web development task like this would take and even when deadlines were set, they were exceeded due to their whimsical management strategy. It wouldn't surprise me if this is how he has started ANY business. Not to mention, I think he is pulling all of his funds back because they have gone in way over their heads and don't have the income to support it. They constantly were mentioning they needed to look at their finances. If you are a dentist or dental office, look elsewhere. Would be horrible to start with them and then they just disapeaer. They did it to us!
