I originally stopped by Summit Place Kia, 2200 Elizabeth Lake Rd., Waterford, MI 48328 on 8/26/09 and looked at a Kia Rondo. Sales person Jason Demopolis and Finance Mgr. David Michael offered me to take this vehicle home for the night for a test drive as I was considering buying the car. As I began driving the car, I noticed the wheel was pulling to the left, and if I would even let go of the wheel slightly, the car would steer to the left. There was also a rattling sound in the driver front end. The next day I took this vehicle back to Summit Place and sales person Jason asked how I liked the car, I said I liked the car except it was dangerous to drive and uncomfortable to drive as the steering was off center and it was pulling to the left and it had a rattle in the driver side front end. Jason said "if we could get those 2 things taken care of, would you like to buy the car"? I said yes if the pulling issue and the rattle noise are fixed and we can get the price down, I would be interested. Jason said do not worry, I will get the 2 issues fixed for you. I also spoke to David Michael, finance manager and asked him, "will the rattling noise and the vehicle pulling to the left problem be fixed"? He said, we are the #1 Kia dealer in Michigan, we take care of our customers, your vehicle will be fixed. David said your Rondo will be ready for pick-up tuesday 9-1-09. On Monday, 8-31-09, I called Jason Demopolis and asked him if the vehicle might be ready today, he said maybe later today, probably tomorow, 9-1-09. I asked him, "Jason, did the rattling noise and the vehicle pulling to the left problem get fixed"? He said, it is fixed. Jason called me on 9-1-09 and said my car is ready, we will bring it to you.

At 4pm., 9-1-09, the car was delivered to me and driving it for the first time, I noticed the rattling sound was still there and the vehicle was still pulling to the left. I called him and said "Jason, you agreed to fix the rattling and the steering/pulling problem for this car, & on 8-31-09 you told me the repairs were made. I said Jason I do not appreciate being misled, you told me these problems were fixed, this is also unsafe to drive, I could lose control of the car. He said, bring the car back, we will fix the problems and get you a loaner to drive. I was leaving town, so he said bring the car in on Friday, 9-4-09. On Thursday, 9-3-09, I called Jason to make sure he was ready for me to bring in the car, Jason said, "did you make an appointment with service"? I said Jason, I didnt know I had to, could you set one up for me? He said go call service. I called Summit Place Service Dept., and set up an appt. for 9-4-09 at 10am. I dropped off the car then, and spoke to John Oswald, Finance Director as he was asking me if I had any problems. I said John, I took your Rondo here home for the night on 8-26-09 and found the vehicle to be pulling to the left, has a rattle in the driver side front end, is not safe to drive and your sales person Jason Demopolis and Finance Mgr. David Michael agreed to fix these 2 problems with the car as a condition of me purchasing the vehicle. I even called Jason on 8-31-09 and asked him, "Jason did your dealership fix the pulling problem with this vehicle and the rattling noise from the front end and he said it was fixed and it was not fixed, and I do not appreciate being mis-led repeatedly by your dealership. I also said Jason promised me a loaner car and I have been waiting for a long time in your waiting room and I have a busy day, I want my loaner as promised. John made me wait longer and reluctantly gave me a loaner.

At 3pm on 9-4-09, Service Writer John Seijutt called me and said "Did you hit a pothole on the road or damage the car because the rattling sound is from a broken left front strut and you must have bought a tire for this car because it has a different tire on the driver rear. I said "John, I did nothing to this car, I notified salesperson Jason immediately of this problem as they let me take this car home for a test drive. I did not damage this car, I did not hit any potholes, and I did not buy any tires for this car, and I do not appreciate your accusations. He asked me how I wanted to pay for the tire, and I reminded him I was not paying for any tire. I called John Oswald and explained this new problem and he said he would look into it and call me back. John did not call me back. On Friday, 9-11-09 Service writer John Seijutt called me and said my vehicle is ready for pick-up. I asked him if the strut problem and the tire problem were fixed, he said yes. I picked up the car that afternoon, and noticed the vehicle was now pulling to the right. I called Summit Place Service after looking at the service sheet and asked service writer Tim did they replace the damaged tire on my vehicle? He said no they just switched the tire from right to left and left to right. I was too busy to call back on 9-11-09, so on 9-12-09, I called Summit Place Kia and asked to speak to the General Manager. I spoke to Jerry Doute, and explained to him the above scenario. I explained how sales person Jason Demopolis and Finance Mgr. David Michael promised me the rattling in the front end and the pulling issue would be repaired as a condition of me purchasing the vehicle. I also said I do not believe your dealership performed a safety/maintenence check on this vehicle, because they would have found these 2 problems. I also told him I was sold a unsafe/dangerous car, and I did not appreciate being accused by your service writer John Seijutt of damaging this car. I also told Jerry

I went out of my way to make sure these 2 problems were documented, I was promised they would be fixed prior to accepting this vehicle and I was told the repairs were completed and they were not completed. He said Summit Place would not fix the tire issue. I asked to speak to the owner, Rich LaLonde. When speaking to Rich, I repeated the above information, and he said the same thing, Summit Place Kia would not fix the tire issue. I told Rich his dealership sold me a dangerous, damaged car. He said his salesperson Jason Demopolis made promises to me to fix this car, but he shouldnt have made those promises. I said Rich if you have an employee who makes a promise to a customer, you should honor that promise. He said he would not fix the tire problem, that they were the #1 Kia dealer and they give great service and customer satisfaction. I said Rich, "I am a customer who is not satisfied, and your dealer is not #1 in my opinion, I will not recommend your dealer to anyone other than do not buy a car from Summit Place Kia. And I am going to contact Kia Corporate headquarters and notify them of this issue. I will also notify the BBB, Attorney General, City of Waterford, Michigan, etc, etc until I have gotten what was promised to me. I hope Kia Corporate can see the poor customer service I was given and correct this problem.
