Put Sunrise Lighting , Sunrise Lights out of business. I wonder every day how a scandalous and deceitful company like Sunrise lights AKA sunrise lighting can stay in business in our great country. How does a place that lies on their web site be allowed to steal money from the public? My parents live in Northridge California and went into buy lights. The place was hard to find as there is no sign form the main street. An employee of sunrise lights had to guide them by phone to an alley behind a K-Mart. The place was tiny, full of questionable smoke smell. My parents went there because their web site makes them look like a big company that has been around 20 years. Yet my parents noted the business license posted made it clear the business began in 2004. When they asked about this they were told not to be worried with that.They asked to speak to Michael Hanna the owner listed on the web site. They were told he was out and they dealt with another Mike, This should have been the first indicator to leave and not buy. They talked my parents into paying cash and gave them no paperwork at all. In fact they charged them tax of $133.09 and refused to give them a receipt. I wonder how much sales tax money has been collected and never paid to the state of California?. The second problem my parents had was that the items were not as advertised. My parents are 83 and 86 years of age and were duped when they were picking up. They were not allowed to open the boxes when they were loading them up. In fact one of the warehouse employees told them to relax and based on your ages the fixtures would last longer than you! At that age you deserve respect and not be treated like a child. My parents contacted the same day and I looked up sunrise lights. What I found on topix.com, the BBB, ripoffreport.com, complaints.com, yahoo.com, google.com, etc explained all to me. All of these web sites had many complaints on sunrise lighting. This is why I cant believe the government has not shut down sunrise lights or sunrise lighting ( whatever they go by this week) down.
