Our business advertises with other providers and we are familiar with typical PPC or Pay Per Click advertising programs. Typically you set a budget and timeframe to run your advertisement in - and pay based on the volume of clicks.
However, SuperMedia / SuperPages PPC program never seems to stop billing in arrears! Upon suspending my advertisement after my initial first month budget was expended, I received an invoice for almost the same budget amount for the "next month" -- since apparently they don't run the ad in the number of days of 30 = a month, but rather the calendar month.
As such, you can easily blow your "monthly" budget if you start your campaign mid-month. Once I discovered this, I was rather furious -- but egg on me, for not knowing better. Then another month goes by and miraculously there is yet another charge on my credit card!
This was after closing my account and being confirmed that I wouldn't see any future charges. Now the amount is small... but it's enough that I'm ticked off at their fraudulent billing practices. Which is very surprising for the company that touts have the "Super Guarantee" -- which apparently doe NOT apply to them!
