Well spoken, attractive young black girl purporting to be raising money for local girls soccer team that has 4 members that can't afford a trip to the next tournament.
She identified herself as my neighbor from a few blocks away and dropped the right local school names, etc. I gave her a check for $40.
I followed her through the neighborhood to the street she said she lived on - but she stopped short, made a call on her cell phone and a van showed up with Georgia plates. Off she went.
She was not my neighbor, and I wanted to get my $40 bucks worth of aggravating them.
I followed them to a pizza place and called the local police. The scammers convinced the police they were simply book salespeople and were legit. The police told them to get a solicitation permit or leave town.
They left town - I followed them. They simply crossed the city line and started the same process.
These guys are not represented anywhere in a Google search.

Magazine Seller Arrested
AUTHOR: Jon - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, April 04, 2007
West Linn Oregon police arrested a member of a magazine selling group Wednesday for fraud by deception.
A solicitor was using the names of non-existant local sports teams to fraudulently entice large contributions from residents in high income zip-codes of Lake Oswego and West Linn.
The same type of group was interviewed by Lake Oswego Police and let go. Although reports of fraud had been made, there was no viable case to be made.
Way to go West Linn Police! You guys are asking theses scammers the right questions!!
