After watching an infomercial on tv about the "free" Everstryke Matchbox I ordered two with the only provision was to pay for shipping and handling.  The infomercial showed how easy the everstryke match operated which was simply to unscrew the stryker from the box and strike the box to light it.  Upon receiving the merchandise, I immediately followed the instructions which directed me to unscrew the stryker.  The stryker was made of plastic and immediately twisted off the base which made the box unusable.  I took the second one out and the same thing happened.  I called the phone number of the company and a young lady advised me to send the product back and I would be sent a replacement.  I advised her that a replacement wouldn't help, that I wanted a refund due to the fact of its mfg inferiority.  They must be delivering thousands of these and they are all useless.  Just a Ripoff............

We DO NOT purchase NEW items that are defective

I read your response with amazement. It is your position that it is okay for a company to offer for sale brand new items that are defective. If yoiu believe that ANY item is "FREE" for just the payment of shipping and handling then you are a very naive person. The cost of the "shipping and handling" far exceeds the actual cost of shipping and handling. The price of the cost of the item is included in the shipping and handling. When a person places an order for an item it is with the understanding that it will arrive in good condition and will not be defective.

Your suggestion that it is an easy repair misses the point completely. A person purchasing an item has the expectation of the item arriving in a workable condition. If this was not so then a company could purchase a lot of bad merchandise and then sell it to unaware customers and then just say too bad when the defect is brought to their attention.

Broken screw

AUTHOR: anonymous - ()

POSTED: Thursday, June 26, 2014

It amazes me that companies can sell this cheap made product by spending thousands on Infomercials.  The consumer then finds out that the product shouldn't even be on the market because it is so inferior.  The cost of postage and handling more than pays for the product.  This item probably cost the company twenty five cents to mfg plus the postage and handling (more profit, because they are also marked up)....so the company says they are giving the item away "free" when in fact they are making a profit.......Who in the company inspects the items to make sure they even work?.....I'm sure I am not the only person who has had a problem with these stryker matches............

NO REFUND!!!

AUTHOR: Tyg - ()

POSTED: Thursday, June 26, 2014

It was "free" so you paid no money to THEM for the product. The money you did pay was used on the shipping. Since you recieved your 'free" product, that means that there is NO ONE who can give you money back. It AMAZES me that people like YOU still exist!!! Heres a thought, take the broke PLASTIC screw down to a home depot or auto parts store and pick up a few METAL replacments. This way you get to use the item. Why is it COMMON SENSE appears to COMPLETLY be missed by the average American?? Is it the connecting the dots?? Is it the FACT that they no longer teach our children BASIC problem solving?? Whatever the issue is, all you need to do is replace the broken screw and the product should work as advertised.
