Swap@home claims you can post and trade for free. However, after you register you MUST deposit $10 into their "Swap Bank Account", or you can't post or trade or do anything more than browse their site.

If you transfer the $10 and then decide to cancel your membership or withdrawl the money from your "Swap Bank Account", you will be charged a $10 administrative fee. In others words, posting is not free. Your membership is not free.

Bottom line: They keep the $10 you transfer. It's gone. Say goodbye $10!

The so-called free swap coupons is a ruse also. They don't carry any monetary value so you can't cash them out for cash. Your $10 is still gone!

After you sign up and click on "Post A Swap"; this dialog box comes up:

Quote:
{Please first deposit a minimum of US$10.00 to 'My Bank Account'}

From their FAQ's, you'll find this information:

Quote Question:
{Can I withdraw cash from my 'Swap Bank Account'?}

Quote Swap@Home Answer:

{Yes. You can request to withdraw money from your 'Swap Bank Account', if you have more than US$ 10.00 on your account. Here is how:

Login
Go to 'My Swap Bank Account'
Follow the link to the online form: 'Request to withdraw money from your account'.

We will process your request and send you a check. An administrative fee of US$10.00 applies to all withdrawals.}

There's your $10... and you're not getting it back. These guys... gals... whomever... are scamming people. Don't get caught up in it. $10 bucks may not sound like a lot from 1 person, but if you add up all the $10 fees their getting... well let's just say.. the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.

Beware of these scam artists. They have their website worded well and it looks professional. They know how to draw your attention away from your $10 bucks. Read the fine print. They're out to take you money.
