Sycamore Chevrolet ripoff mistreated and ripped off Terre Haute Indiana

We bought a Chevrolet Beretta early last year, knowing that it had problems with it. We then took the car to Sycamore Chevrolet for the purpose of diagnosing and repairing the car. After a thorough diagnosis, they seemed confident that they had identified the problem.

Knowing little about automotive repair, we allowed them to fix the problems that they had found.

We then picked up the car after the repairs and attempted to drive to another location to get a windshield. The car died and would not restart. We had driven 10 miles.

We had the car towed to Sycamore to find out what happened. They refused to pay the towing bill even after pointing out that the car would not run because of something they did (or didn't do).

The diagnosed the car once again and, this time, said that the car needed a new engine. The repairs for which we had paid were for engine repair in the first place--nearly 1400 dollars worth of engine repair. The quoted the price of getting and installing a new engine at 1700 dollars but later went down to 1300--which was less than what it cost us in the first place!

We told them to wait and we took the car (via tow truck) to another specialist who looked over both the current problems with the car as well as the invoice from what they had "done" before. After a thorough diagnosis, it became apparent that nearly none of the repairs for which we had paid were actually done. The person to whom we took the car then proceeded to fix all the problems the car had for less than 700 dollars--including the problems that were caused by Sycamore Chevrolet's neglegence.

We eventually sued Sycamore Chevrolet for what they had charged us and settled out of court. I would never, ever recommend that anyone go to Sycamore Chevrolet for repairs. For that matter, I would not recommend them going there for any reason whatsoever.

The people at Sycamore were rude, far less than helpful, and disrespectful. It is my belief that they attempted to take advantage of us because the person paying for the repairs was female.
