I was hired as a Math Tutor for the Sylvan Learning Center in Westlake Village Ca. After a extensive interview of which was 2 1/2 hours, I was hired to teach at least 3-4 students. I thought I was doing a good job being there each time they asked for me on my days off from work and weekends only getting paid around 10.00 hr. Then there was this so called Manager not owner who stated to me that I was not working fast enough with the kids. How can you tutor kids fast?
Come to find out in watching this person by the name of J.B. he seemed very strange and had some kids in a room doing excise with them. If Ii had my young daughter or son I surely would not walk my child to be doing excerise's with this person. They were there to learn and be helped this was not a GYM.
After that they never called me back and maybe that was good, I feel that this place is only after people money and contracts and they do not check into the people they hire.
I personally did not even have to have a back-ground check that makes me concerned that they just hire people off the street?
Years ago we took our son of which is know 16 yrs of age to the same place and they wanted over 6,000 for his enrichment program.
It is truly a rip off and I with all the posts, if you need a tutor go to a in home tutor center and make sure they are background check. He made me very concerned the way he was treating the students and the things that I saw there.
Parents be aware of this place and do not waste your money going there.
