Symsa Exotic Fruits & Vegetables Mr. Steve Morera MONEY FRAUD Escazu San Jose , Nationwide

My name is Stacy Singh and along with my husband we own a small company here in Guyana that imports fruits and vegetables mainly from the US.  About one month ago we made contact via phone calls and e-mails with one Mr. Steve Morera from Symsa Exotic Fruits and Vegetables in Costa Rica with intention to purchase 1 container of Carrots.  He sent us the proforma for $ 17.000 USD and we sent two wire transfers through our bank here in Guyana to his bank, Bank of Costa Rica. This was since March 3rd 2011. The container was to leave CR the following Monday. When Monday arrived and I called to confirm everything Mr. Morera said that he will not be sending anything until the next week because the earth quake hit CR and no shipping is possible.  Although I contacted the shipping agent and they said that is not true he said that we have to wait until the next week, which we did.  When the next week arrived he said that he can't do business with us because we have family problems and he don't want anything to do with people that has family problems.  I have numerous e-mails to show exactly what he's been saying.  With that I realized that something was wrong here.  He offered to send the money back and I said to go ahead and do so.  He stopped answering any of my phone calls and through e-mails I asked him to send me a confirmation from the bank so I can see that he sent the money.  With no reply after one week he sent me a request form that had no number, stamp or nothing to show that indeed the money was sent.  I still believed that maybe this is how CR banks do it so I waited. 

No money came.  I haven't been able to make contact with him at all. After another week he reply and said that he did send the money, which is a lie.  All he keeps saying is that he sent the money but he can't send me a proper confirmation from the bank.  At this moment I have lost all contact with the man.

I asked my bank to find out if the money was sent and when they did it was confirmed that no money was sent from him to us.  So many other lies he e-mailed me that I have and can send to you.  I believe that this man wants to rob us of the $ 17.000 usd. and I don't know what to do.

We are a  very small company that has taken loans to run our business and to have someone do this to us is really hard.  I am completely frustrated and I don't know where to go for help.

This man said that he did business with Trinidad and other countries but I don't know why he doing this to us.  I really need that money back because I borrowed it from the bank on a short loan and need to repay it.  My home was lodged to take that loan.   

This is really giving a bad name to Costa Rica and the people of CR.  I never thought that a CR company will be different from the companies we deal with in Miami.  I was proven wrong.
