Syndi Edney used my male French Bulldog for stud services.  The agreement for payment was for 2nd pick puppy back with full registration since she said she did not have any cash.  At first I was told the dog did not take.  Then just before its due date I was informed she was pregnant.  The dog had 4 pups she stated.  In the 1st week 1 pup was laid on/smothered and another pup killed by another female dog allowed into the whelping area.  Leaving one male and one female alive,  I chose the female as my pick.  Due to an emergency with my father 3 states away I asked Syndi if the pup could be picked up slightly early so I could take her to her new family.  The papers for the pup were due any day, but were not yet delivered.  I know they were filed and sent since I had registered the litter myself for 2 pups. AKC said they had been mailed.  I was assured by Syndi Edney that the papers would be arriving in the next day or so and she would send them to the new owner immediately.

The day after I delivered the pup to the new family,  SE contacts me stating the pup she had gotten from me (now 13 mos) is in stage 4 kidney failure.  She and I had spoken about the pup 8 months prior when she said it was urinating frequently and drinking alot.  I advised her to seek vet care and if it was deemed a genetic issue or diabetes the pup would be replaced.  So now 8 mos later she asks me for a replacement pup, BUT would like to keep the original pup as well.  At first that didn't seem odd to me as owners do get attached.  I became angry when I found out that NO vet care had ever been provided to this pup since the original symptoms and that possibly the death sentence it now faced could have been avoided.  When I told SE I thought she had been negligent by not taking the poor pup to a vet for something that could have been as simple as a urinary tract infection and some antibiotics she became irate at me.  She proceeded to tell me what a bad breeder I was and how I didn't stand behind my dogs, etc...At this point there is NO way I am sending her another pup to possibly be treated the same way and since she could not provide any vet confirmation I didn't know if she was telling the truth.

So of course her retaliation is to send the pup papers that  I had gotten as a pick back  with limited registration.  I am a breeder and of course I would not want a pup with limited since at the time I was not sure if I would keep it for my own breeding program.  Due to us only having a verbal agreement and her having her daughter lie about our agreement (all her dogs are registered under her daughters name)  AKC could not change the status to full. The new owners were heartbroken as they were already attached and faced finding her a pet home since they needed a female with full registration for future breeding plans.

During this AKC appeal process I had taken the time to check her partners website where they advertise their blue French Bulldogs and found they were showing that 4 pups were available for sale out of that litter.  I assume 2 of the pups were faked pix or she had substituted two non registered pups into the litter to attempt to scam people or get deposits to use and then tell him the pups had died unexpectedly.  I registered the litter and know only 2 were alive.  I reported it to AKC and they claimed they could not do anything about it (pathetic).

Upon speaking to several other breeders I found that Syndi Edney was also pretending the pups she had gotten from them also had health issues and asked for a replacement pup.  And with the same story of keeping the original since she had become attached.  No vet records were ever offered to back up her claims and it appears to be a easy way to get a free pup and keep the first.  I had no idea she had around 30 dogs at her home of several different breeds or I would not have dealt with her in the first place.  She takes great care to hide that fact online.

Just so we are clear on your story you decided to "buy" the pup back" from the "poor" person when you could have just given her full registration since she claimed to be attached to the pup and had wanted her for breeding? She had already been compensated by me for the difference for full registration to pet.  That would have cost you nothing so seems like a generous thing to do if you were truly concerned for the pup and the buyer.  Yet you decided to give her the remaining amount so YOU could have a blue pup with full AKC for yourself .  How generous of you as the 1st option would have solved all issues with no money exchanging hands yet would not have benefitted you would it?  And to me it just proves there was NOTHING wrong with the original pup or you would not have paid to get that pup back if the other truly had genetic issues.  I think actions speak way louder than the stories you tell and anyone who reads what transpired here who benefitted?  My favorite quote is that you had used my stud 3 times and YOU decided I only deserved limited AKC after our original agreement.  Worked out pretty good for you it appears.  My advice to anyone is to get a written contract in any circumstance even if you have known the person and believe them to be honest.  Don't make my mistake.

So let me get this straight:

1.  I have bred your dogs 3 times and on the last litter you get to decide my AKC is limited?  If I had known that your dog would not have been bred as you claimed to be so broke you couldn't possibly afford a stud fee. And isn't it amazing how that decision came about after I called you out on not providing vet care for point #2 and your puppy mill?  Everyone else I know that breeds it is full fee or pick back with full AKC.  What  breeder wants limited? Good try.  And then has their daughter lie about her AKC records and our agreement?  Good parenting.  You should be proud.

2.  I am sick that you had my puppy at all and that I had no idea if you were telling the truth about its health.  You did not provide it vet care for the issues it had so it became terminally ill.  NO vet proof or records and your admittance that you NEVER took her to the vet.  Yet you think I should send you a replacement pup?  Now that makes sense.  Especially since several other breeders told me you tried to pull the same stunt with them getting a "free" pup yet never had any vet records to back up your poor me stories.

3.  YOU are the reason the buyer did not get full rights.  As my contract states I do not provide cash refunds.  I refunded her the difference of what the pup sold for as a pet as she still had the dog and stated she had a buyer.  I don't blame her for being p*ssed off.  I would be too if some scammer breeder lied to the person I bought the pup from who lied about giving the pup full AKC.  I wouldn't expect you to understand my dad being terminally ill, moving 1000 miles and no pictures may hinder me helping assist her in selling the pup.  Think you have made it obvious morals are not your strong point.

4.  I note you did not  mention you and your partner listing 2 dead pups as being for sale.  I did notice that you quickly took the ad down on the website when someone brought it to your attention that I had outed you on it.  What outlandish excuse do you have for trying to rake in some deposits on 2 pups that were dead? Even naming them and pretending they were different pups?

I can tell you that I am happy there is no association between us anymore and you don't have any of my pups.  As for your no bad reports prior comment I am sure it is the result of the great care you use to put records, emails and phone numbers under your daughter Blayne Edney's name or your "partners" so googling doesn't bring up anything.  No one said you were dumb.  Just dishonest and have no regard for anyone but yourself and making a dollar.  Tell KARMA hi for me when it catches up to you....

First off too trusting is Jen Kemp,Maverick French Bulldogs and Maverick Performance Horses. Lets not hide behind Too Trusting. If anyone was too trusting it was me. I would like to address a few points. 1) pup was always on a limited reg. as jen's stud fee was $2000.00 and a limited blue sells eaily for $3000.00. Limited was because this was our 3rd time using Jen's stud dog.

2) 2nd pick oup was a lie she took first pick

3)I do NOT have 30 dogs! Thats just a flat lie and not even close.

4) The breeder Jen Kemp refers to in her rant,Jen herself had absolutely nothing nice to say about.

5) The dog I bought from Jen Kemp that was euthanized at 13 months that defastated me had POLYCYSTIC Kidneys. I sent her kidneys off to Texas A&M. She was born this way and nit breeding quality. Jen Kemp,Maverick French Bulldigs would not guarantee her as she was 13 months old. Her guaranty is 12 months. And she culled the mom of this  litter. Hmmmmm maybe she knew something. This pup had seen the vet and had been tested for diabetes. Hummer as we affectionately called her always played, ate and acted completely normal until one day when kidneys were failing. She was taken to the vet the sameday. We had noticed she drank and oeed a little more but nothing alarming.

6) We stand behind what we breed. Jen Kemp,Maverick French Bulldogs only gave $2000.00 back to the poor lady she sold the limited reg pup to and told her to sell the pup to get the rest of her money from. She was moving and didnt have time.Really she didnt have time? I purchased the pup back to make the customer whole.Karma is going to get you Jen,so rightfully so the pup is named Blulaka Karma!

7)I have bred dods for 17 yrs and this is my first complaint and it was made by an untruthful individual.

8)Maverick French Bulldogs/Jen Kemp says she does not know if her dead dog sired this litter but wanted full akc reg anyway?

9)yes i did have the mom lay on a pup and i did have a rescue terrier get in my bedroom and pick up a pup to bring to me and punctioned it. She carried her own oups around when she came to us pregnant (now spayed and placed) it was a horrible accident. Jen calls it negligent. Well Jen you killed your blue make by hiring an idiot who left him out to die of heat stroke. What a horrible torturing dealth. But yours is an accident and mine is neglect. yeah go on and lie on someone else.
