Received an ad in the mail from a T Robert Grilli in RI. I called the residence phone number, a male voice answered indentifying himself as Mr Grilli. He tiold me he'd found my name amongst many in a marketing list of people interested in starting their own home business. I asked him a few questions about his offer(What the 124.50 cost was supposed to cover, licensing, taxes etc..) and he gave what I thought were straight- forward answers.
I would work as a go-between "financial consultant" between the lendee and the lender. I would do no paperwork, only place ads offering assistance in finding various types of loans for individuals and businesses. I would respond by sending out the premade paperwork to the lendee who would fill it out and return it to me, I would thereby glance over the paperwork to be certain everything "was in order" then send it off to one of the potential financers that I'd "located."
The booklet of information arrived about a week later. When I finally had a moment to read it, I came across a few comments within the body of the booklet and a clause in one of the ready- made contracts which came with it that made me pause and check it out with a family associate who is experienced with both the legal process involved in both personal and business finance. After looking at the contract between the consultant and the lendee, I realized I had mistaken Grilli's directness in his answers for honesty.
1st and probably the BIGGEST red flag is the Quote in the "Agreement For Financial Services" (which the person who hypothetically contacted me about a loan) would need to sign and it states as follows..
"As further consideration to Consultant, Client agrees not to obtain financing from Lenders/Investers supplied by Consultant , either directly or through third parties, wirthout prior written consent of Consultant, for a period of two (2) years from the date of this agreement except through Consultant and that a separate agreement shall be required for these services."
What it means is if that lendee signs this contract they are not allow to obtain financing elsewhere for two years. If this sort of a clause were in my mortgage contract, andGod forbid I signed it,.. I would not be allowed(according to the way it's written) be to refinance with another company during that two year period - evern through a thrid party!!
I also found this comment in response to a question about the consultants commission fees..
Q Does anyone ever refuse to pay the commission fee?
A Don't even let the thought enter your mind. Borrowers would never try to beat you out of a fee you've rightfully earned. They just wouldn't do it. For one thing, your agreement with them is a contract that is binding by law. Lenders would have nothing to do with borrowers that even tried. Why's that? Their reasoning: If they tried to beat you, then, what would prevent them from not paying the loan.(That's right. No question mark!) And, furthermore, these borrowers, somewhere down the line, may need you again to help with another project.
Unfortunately for me, by the time I'd had the time to acutually read the fine print in this booklet, the 10 day refund had passed.
That's another thing, anyone who's ever refinanced or taken out a loan knows the process can take a while for required paperwork to be reviewed and the "approval process" to be done. to the "10 day grace period" is bunk!! Even if someone were to follow the directions in the book to the letter, it would be a few weeks before the "consultant" got paid assuming they could find someone dumb enough to sign that contract.
Beware!! Don't waste your money or time.

You should read your own quotation more carefully!

You say "BIGGEST red flag is . . ." and you go on to quote,
"As further consideration to Consultant, Client agrees not to obtain financing from Lenders/Investers supplied by Consultant , either directly or through third parties, wirthout prior written consent of Consultant, for a period of two (2) years from the date of this agreement except through Consultant and that a separate agreement shall be required for these services."
Then you say, "What it means is if that lendee signs this contract they are not allow to obtain financing elsewhere for two years. If this sort of a clause were in my mortgage contract, andGod forbid I signed it,.. I would not be allowed(according to the way it's written) be to refinance with another company during that two year period - evern through a thrid party!!"
That's not what it says, at all. It prohibits the client from obtaining financing for two years from Lenders/Investers supplied by Consultaant. This does not in any way keep the client from borrowing from any other lender, or re-financing through any other lender.
You are criticizing Mr. Grilli inappropriately, and your whining about not having enough time to make money before the 10 day refund period is unreasonable. The 10 days is for evaluation, and you had your perfectly fair chance to get money back. Yes, there are a lot of mail order scams. But if you complain, make sure you have a valid reason.

So what exactly is your complaint?

I'm not going to be too long-winded here, but anyone who reads this "report", I'd like you to consider a few things:
(1) I don't think a person who gives you a VERIFIABLE personal phone number, as well as a 10 day "free look" is a person that is out to scam someone. If anything, he's giving someone 10 days of free access to his stuff where they can take what they want then return the product and not have to pay a dime, so I think intent is eliminated;
(2) If you really read the complaint, you'll see that he really doesn't have one. It's obvious that he didn't understand what he was reading, in which case, he could have simply picked up the phone and called Mr. Grilli, who would have answered his questions, as he has done for me on many occassions. In addition, he tells you in plain English that he KNEW about the 10 day guarantee, but didn't take advantage of it. Is that Mr. Grilli's fault?
(3) I, as a client of Mr. Grilli's, and someone who has been in this business for some time, can tell you that Mr. Grilli definitely knows his stuff. I knew most of the stuff that he was teaching before I bought it; however, the 1-2 things I picked up from him earned me my money back several times over.
Google Mr. Grilli. Look at his reports. He's giving a blueprint for a viable business for $125. It's worth a look. If you don't think it's for you, send it back and get a refund. The risk is very small, and if you do your research, you will see Mr. Grilli has a sterling reputation.
Just by two cents.

Robert Grilli's program answered our prayers

First and foremost I want to thank Robert Grilli for everything he has done for my husband and myself. You have a wonderful program and should be proud of all that you have put into this. We look forward to working as Consultants for many years to come.
I am a very skeptical person, my husband has purchase every scam there is. He always watched every informercial on TV to make you rich. When he sent for these scams I would return them. Many arguments occurred but he is a very stubborn man and always thought he would be successful with one of these scams.
I lost my job as many have and we where struggling. My husband mentioned to me he had a program that would make us money and it is not a scam. Being me I said I don't want to hear about it. This past fall my husband went into cardiac arrest in our home and thank god my daughter and I where there to call 911. If not he would not be here today. He ended up in the hospital and eventually had a defibrillator installed. After getting a second chance at life he mentioned this program again and explained to me what it was all about. I was interested and thought lets give it a try. Best decision I ever made. This program works. We already received financing for a client and he is very happy. We also have two other clients we are currently working on getting financing.
We work at this business. We advertise and have got great response. We have lenders that are great to work with. THis is a great business for working at home and making good income.
Robert Grilli has been there every step of the way. My husband calls him and he is there or if not he calls right back with answers to any questions you have. He also showed such compassion when my husband had his heart operation. He called him to see how he was doing and if everything was ok.
So before you make judgements give the program a try. If there is something you don't agree with Mr. Grilli is more than willing to help you in anyway he can.
You have to put some work into it like advertising and social networking. This is not a scam.
Thanks again Bob

Be Wary of Any Promises To Easy Money

I only repeated a bit of what I'd read in the manual which isn't worth the paper it's printed upon. If it's wrong Mr. Grilli, you're the one who needs to change it.
So I've got the dubious distinction of being the FIRST person ever to complain?? Somehow I doubt this is the case. Perhaps I all the others that were taken advantage of were too embarraseed to admit that they'd be had and didn't know there was a public website where they could share thier misfortune and warn others who may be considering sending in their money.
WARNING: Anytime someone promises you thousands more than your intial investment, it's a "get-rich-quick" scheme.
If you're not certain about what's in the material you purchased, asked someone you trust with expereince with contract laws as they apply to personal and commercial loans.
In short:
HE IS A SLICK TALKER: GOOD AT QUICK ANSWERS and plenty of words to make it sound legit BUT, LACKING HONESTY.
Learn from my mistake. Pass on this one.

Money Broker Program

While our company enjoys a great business reputation and has for over 40 years I'd like to answer to your so called negative claims. You state the agreement means they cannot obtain financing from any lender in 2 years. That is absolutely WRONG. The agreement protects you as the consultant from a client going back to the SAME lender without first contacting you. This is only a professional courtesy to you as the consultant and can be stricken from the agreement if you are not comfortable with it. You are the very first person to ever complain about this. Most people are glad it is there.
The 10 day money back guarantee is for you to decide whether or not you want to pursue the program. If you can't read the instructional part in 10 days then you should have returned the program for a refund.
We have many individuals who have purchased the program, made money with it and are very happy with the program. We try our hardest to please everyone but you should have called us first before bashing us with negative claims.
I am sorry you feel this way. I would have like to talk to you and explain just how the agreement works and why the clause is there to protect you as the broker.
Some loans such as leasing and factoring can take less than 10 days to get approved. But again the 10 day guarantee is for you to decide whether or not you want to pursue the program. So it is not bunk as you state.
And as for the commission fee you can have it set up where the lender will pay you. This question was listed as a general question as many people have asked about it.
We are an honest hard working company who tries to please everyone. Unfortunately you are the FIRST person to ever complain about our program. We stand behind everything we offer in the letter. I am puzzled as to why you could not call us instead of writing that we are a ripoff. I don't feel this is fair to us at all.
I would like to talk to you personally to set the record straight. We have and always will try to help anyone with any matter. I hope you can give us a call to discuss the matter so we can try to resolve this in a professional way. Thank you.
