Target Superstore false advertising Knoxville, Tennessee

Would be great to have the evidence, the picture and anything else, yet not possible, unless someone shows the same past ad, and the reason for the misunderstanding.

They told us at break time, we should answer customer questions, which was the reason we were there, at that time of day to work, yet not all customers are treated equally

Told to shop only at a Target store.

I find I never go to Target store any more after being threatened with arrest for asking a team member about the best Mother;s day card for my mother, off the clock, as a customer, he refused to let me buy the card.

This Target store finds many ways to lie about something, anything is possible, this new team leader suggested several schemes to get people to buy more rather then be helpful and let them decide.

I was terminated for several reasons, yet told someone I just left. How could I go there and work there if I am refused access to the building, or buy something there, if refused access.

I find Walmart within walking distance of my house and prices are cheaper, why go farther and get abused and pay more.

Compare Target to Walmart or some other store, and the distance it takes to get there, if you need to save money. Target claims to be cheaper, rarely its cheaper, yet not all stores including Walmart are cheaper all the time.

I did look at the ad board at the front doors. No corrections or notes on the board. Like I wrote before ( I think I did) , not only did one of the reps at the store say I was right on what was printed, so did the customer service rep I talked to on the phone from corporate. There was no sku number in the ad to show which one they were meaning. When I went to the competitor, they pointed this out to me.

They have since advertised this same item, 1ce the same wording was used, with no special offers listed. The next time they did say the special offers one.  I could understand the attitude if I had misread it. I would have apologized and moved on.

I no longer have the ad, as I had no more need for it. If not false advertising, it was at least misleading.

Its a fact, that if Walmart or some other store misprinted it, yet rare as it is, you see the disclaimer taped to the store, to correct the problem. Do you see it at any, or all target stores when the ad is wrong, people get misled, that is the subject of the problem.
- Actually yes I do. Target (and I imagine all Targets are the same) have "ad boards" at the front.  I, on occasion, have seen disclaimers when the ad is incorrect.  Does that mean that I go in weekly to verify that every single item on the ad is correct and if it is not correct that they have a notice...not even close.  But since "errors" are not the norm the few that I see does show that they seem to post corrections if they need to.  In fact in most areas(if not all) this is in fact law that they must post a correction for any ad errors.

So in this case there is a question.  Did the OP misread(or just miss) what the ad said, or did Target make a mistake?  Is it a case where the way the ad was written it "could" be interpeted a few different ways.

Unfortunately this was posted a month ago so it is not like people can just go into their local Target and look at the ad themselves.  Now if the OP could scan and post a picture of the ad in question that may explain a few things.

Faith can be fact or fiction. Among several things we were told, that were real or not real, we were told if we placed it in the wrong place, customer would get it at that price, the fact is, it only scans for the price it is, they made sure it was.

Therefore if they misprint it in an ad, or on the internet, its still selling at the price it scans at, the problem is not explaining the error for people to understand it.

Therefore the strange excuses, or the blame the customer, is just sweeping the floor and putting the dirt under the rug, it does not hide it long before its found. I too found errors on the internet when searching for an item, when it was not what it should be, or in the store, or store ads, its rare, yet its real to see.

Just because it is in the ad, does not mean it is on sale. Also, its fair to assume that the big ticket items such as video game systems, Kindles, iPods and iPads never go on sale. Yes, they are advertised in the ad, but they NEVER actually go on sale. The best you will get at Target is a free gift card, but you will still pay full price for the actual item.

that is on the website. I also looked at the actual printed weekly ad at the store and the copy I got at the front of the store. The customer service dept rep I talked to on the phone AND the sales clerk at the store agreed with me that was the way it was printed in the ad. There was also no sku listed referring to an actual Kindle version. No one should have to go to the website after looking at the ad to verify they are both the same listing. Some people do not even look on the website and just get a weekly ad. I still feel like they should have honored what was in the ad.

You should not have to check their online website to recheck the prices in the ad. I think they should uphold the price and item that they show in the print ad. If there was a mistake they could have at least posted that in the store with an apology. The 2nd rep I talked to was very rude about it. Maybe at least they will make sure to show the corr item in their print ads.

I typed Kindle in the search field of Target's web site. Then I clicked on the $114 Kindle.

The one I am talking about was the weekly sale paper. I looked at the website that shows the actual weekly ads as if you were looking at the sales paper. The guest services rep I talked to on the phone AND the clerk in the store admitted I was right in what was shown and listed in  the ad. Also there was no sku listed in the ad.

They do misunderstand things at Target sometimes, yet I must write Customers can too.

As a Customer I went to check on a video game in the Electronics Department, in their ad the price was different, yet the reduced price label was missing that day,  I tried to prove  it,  he refused to scan the price, if I tried to buy it I would get it for that reduced price, because I found a scanner after he said it.

I know of other examples of saying something and doing something else I went to Target to get a Mother's Day card,  I looked at a few, then asked Carol about them, she was about to leave, Carol spoke nice things to me, soon Jay Irwin the STL of the store comes, I asked him a question, his answer "Duh !!!!" he tells me to leave, "Carol has work to do", Carol had left, He tells me I am causing trouble for Carol, he calls her a lazy person,  then I say I will buy the cards and leave, he says no and do not come back, then here take the cards, he ignores me, I manage to get him to take the cards, someway, I can not go out the store with them, Target had me terminated at Target for not showing up for work, when the STL of the store made me stay away.

One of the ETL of store told us, several times, near 3 years ago our Discount Card would disappear, near the begining of the year, yet never did.

Someone told me that being over 55 years old, and being a senior citizen, my Target Discount  Card would  be good forever,  even  if  I left Target for any reason.

They would tell us how much time to get it on the shelf, and say its only goal time, yet be so extreme about it, that if you could not keep up, they would take you to a room to scold you for not keeping up, and sign some papers.

I understand how this Target store thinks and its misunderstandings, you found Target at a moment  when they are doing it.
