I contacted Tax Masters back in the fall of 2007 after receiving a letter from the IRS about a levy on my wages, and seeing the ad on CNN I thought this company could help me before I went into financial trouble.

My wife originally spoke with Ralph Gardner who assured us that they could get the levy lifted and was willing to take a deposit of $1000. I spoke with him as well and he guarenteed that their "tax attorneys" could get the levy lifted imediately and set up a payment plan to pay off the remaining balance and that the total cost would be $2450. We agreed and gave them our debit card to put the $1000 deposit up.
Then time passed by and we had no contact from them. I called again and then I was assigned a person who was handling my case. A week later that person no longer worked there. And we were assigned to Qunicy Shaw who never returns any phone calls. We finally demanded to speak with a supervisor and was refered to Susan Thomas who out of all the people in the company was very helpful on the phone but made sure that the company got their balance of $1450 because she told us that the irs was about to take our funds in our checking account, and Tax Masters wouldn't be able to proceed with out being paid. She told us that they needed us to send them all kinds of paperwork before they could proceed, which I overnighted and paid them the remainder of the money.

After that nothing, no one ever answers the phones and finally got hold of Quincy Shaw who tells me that he has to check with "Mr. Fatty" the financial adviser and "Mr. Bubba" on where all our missing paperwork is. I think all these names are bogus, he told me they were waiting for information from the IRS on back copies of returns filed.

Finally after 70+ out going phone calls to get these people to do what I paid them for, no help from Tax Masters, the levy continued and I talked with IRS myself, they told me that Tax Masters received the documents that we requested. They just sat on them and did nothing.I contacted the BBB in Houston. I worked out a payment plan myself with the IRS with no help from Tax Masters. They will not refund any money and had the nerve to call us and ask what we told the BBB about them.

We wish that we had done some more research on this company before we hired them..PEOPLE BEWARE, JUST BECAUSE THEY ADVERSTISE ON CNN DOESN'T MAKE THEM A GOOD COMPANY!! If any class action suit comes up we would love to join, at this point we realize we were robbed of our money and probably will never see a dime, we just want people out there to hear our story and save them from being ripped off by TAX MASTERS!! THEY WILL NOT FIX YOUR IRS PROBLEMS JUST ROB YOU OF YOUR MONEY, PLEASE SOMEONE SHUT THIS COMPANY DOWN!!
