Hi My name is George From Pelham, NH I am an attorney in NH and MA some of you reading this may have already contacted me. I recently learned that the Salem, NH office has closed. I was told while at the seminar that Horizon Travel also had an office in Connecticut if any one out there has the address of this office please post. Lets get the word out and not let this company RIP OFF anyone else.

I HAD EVEN SIGNED THE PAPERS FOR A 1000.00 REFUND AND A 500.00 TRAVEL VOUCHER, BUT THE CHECK NEVER SHOWED UP, AND NOW THE TEXAS OFFICE TELLS ME THAT HORIZON IS NO LONGER IN BUSINESS AND TCI IS NOT THE SAME COMPANY. They called the police on me, but the police officer said I can picket all I want as long as I am in the public way, and on on their parking lot, and so I did.
It was very satisfying experience to see their desperate glances at we from the windows.

I currently have a case filed in small claims court against Horizon Travel. I am now worried that the time spent going to court will be of no use. Has any one successfully recovered their money through this means? Do to the type of employment I do, picketing my be an issue for me...

After spending 4 and a half hours there attempting to get out I finally gave in so I could drive the hour and half back home before the day care closed. I only did this because Michael promised me that if I called with in three days and explained that I didn't like the program I could get my money back. I should have known better but I was tired and needed to get home. I attempted to call the next day and only got a voice mail and no response. I have called and called and called, filed on my credit card only to be told that it couldn't be cancelled. I am not easly pushed around but these guys are unbelievable.

When I go to court for this, any ideas of what I might need to take with me?

I was a former employee of national Reservations, the company who calls & gets the people who entered into Horizons give-a-way. The seminars are on Tue, Wed, Thur at 1:45p, 3:45pm, 5:45pm & 7:45pm. They also have it on Fri starting with a 11:45am time then the same as times as T-TH. On Sat their seminars start at 9:45am and the same hours as Fri. Some cities are open Sun. too, the hours are similar to Sat.

I hope this helps all of you trying to get your money back. The seminar on each day and all cities actually starts on the hour-not three quarter hour. They have victims show up 15 minutes early for extra "prizes." From my knowledge they are open in Arlington,Tx-Salem,NH-Knoxville,TN- and used to be open in South Carolina, Austin,TX and San Antonio,TX.If anyone else wants more info,please write another rebuttal so I know what you need, I check this site everyday.

These places are busiest on the weekends. Call their office or "800" number and tell them you are interested in attending a seminar. Act like an interested customer and ask them what time their seminars are held on the weekends. Here in Texas they are held between 10:00am-4:00pm on Saturdays and 11:00am-4:00pm on Sundays.

I think if you go any afternoon on the weekend, they will be having seminars and that's when the biggest crowd shows up.

Just make sure you go armed with copies of Better Business Reports and a sign big enough that can be read from the cars passing by. You might check with the law enforcement in your area, but I believe as long as you stay on the sidewalk you are not breaking any laws.

Don't get into an argument with the people at Horizon when they approach you (and they will!) Just tell them you want your refund and will continue to show up every weekend until it is resolved. Don't go into the building with them unless they have promised to issue the refund. Make it clear to them that you don't want to discuss ANYTHING! You only want the refund. Stay calm and in control of yourself and the situation.

I can promise you they do not want you outside with any sign where potential "victims" might be alerted to their scam. It will be easier for them to refund your money than to explain to customers why they ripped you off! :)

In the meantime, my husband and I have vowed to go to every one of these scams that we are invited to and we will go with reports from the BBB to hand out when they are giving their seminar. If we can save even one couple the heartache of being ripped off, it will be worth our time!

Thank you for your response, the 13 Red Roof Lane is the original office we went to so I'm vaugley familiar with it. My question is, how do I know when to go when I can get the attention of potential new scammed people? I tried to find a website, but no luck.

I appreciate your support and I will gladly go to the New Hampshire office (where we were originally scammed) and picket! I have been in contact with these people for months and they continue to tell me that "memberships don't get cancelled." I don't know what to do but I think we're stronger in numbers! Let me know if you have any suggestions or can help us in any way.

Horizon Travel has an office in Salem, New Hampshire at 13 Red Roof Lane, Salem, NH. Belive me it really does work. I have done it at the Salem Office and they credited my account.

I know exactly how you feel, but it's never too late to get your money back. From your note, it looks like you don't live in Texas, but it might be worth a trip back here to do what we, and someone else on this thread, have done.

We are the couple from Frisco, TX that picketed outside their Arlington office. We were offered our money back within 30 minutes!! They DO NOT want the bad publicity and they don't want prospective clients (victims) to see you with that sign. Just do it legally and provide Better Business Reports to anyone wanting more information.

My heart really goes out to those that live out of state and buy into this scam, but it will be worth your time and effort to make the trip back to Texas if that's where you signed the contract. You're out $6,000!! A round-trip ticket isn't going to cost that much. Just book it three or four weeks out and plan on staying over the weekend near their facility.

We knew from other reports that going the typical route would not be productive with these folks. All they see is $$$$$$! So, get them where it hurts! When they see buyers turning away, they will gladly give you your money back.

Like you, we felt really stupid for buying into this, but they are GREAT salesmen and they scam for a living (lots of practice). Don't let it go...fight back! And, we have vowed to attend EVERY one of these sessions we are invited to! But, next time we will go armed with reports and expose them after we get into the classroom. I want to save every person the heartache we, and dozens of others have endured.
