To all thinking about truck driving schools save your money because they wont teach you enough so you can become a good driver its a scam in capital letters and the trucking companys are in on it they get 5000 per student if not more and what do you get.
you get to hold your own butt and a debt of over 7000 dollars. God forbid you kill anyone its your neck on the line. And those trainers are a joke they dont teach you anything either. Its all about the money but you dont get any of it . They are turning you out to die or kill someone else. I wish I had a job that I could go into these schools and companys and bust them for the rip offs they are Thats a job I would love. And would do it with a smile.

I must say that I totally disagree with the orginial post! I went to this school back in 2005. They were awesome! I just recently found out that Old Man Ray who did my driving training passed away 4 yrs ago. But I must say that it all depends on the person!
Truck driving is not for everyone!
First off once you finish your school you will go to a trucking company of your choice if you paid your way thru school and they will put you with a trainer from their company and they will teach you more. It is only the schools job to teach you the basics to get your CDL.
Second off you are NOT going to know everything as soon as you finish school. I am still learning new things every day and its been 8 years!
Third off you might be a sour person because something happened and you might need someone to blame!
Yes it is correct if you kill someone in a Commerical Motor Vehicle you can be charged with Vehicular homicide. But that just isn't for the new drivers. It goes for anyone behind the wheel of a CMV.
If you felt incompetent that maybe you should have did a longer class. When I went I did 5 weeks, which consisted of 2 weeks classroom and 3 weeks driving.
I am here to tell you that if you read this you need to make the decision your ownself because alot of people who post on this site may be right but they can also be a disgruntal person who needs someone to blame for something they did.

You really didn't give much detail of what happen.But it sounds like someone gave you a pair of rose colored glasses.The trucking industry is an ugly ugly business,more so when you are just trying to get in to it.They want drivers to live on the road for weeks on end and not pay them for there time and more so with the companies that hire driving school graduates.
Like the old saying goes,if it sounds to good to be true it probably isn't.If you noticed no one was telling you about all the bad in the industry.Sorry you had a bad experience,but before you go any farther with this or any other job the internet is full of ways to educate yourself to who is telling stories and who is honest.
