From the previous comment: "He has talked about 'green' housing, alternative fuel for cars, offshore money, an NBA basketball team, etc." This is the same guy. He works two scenarios as best I can tell:


1) The Business Funding fraud - He says he wants to fund your business. Tells you about all the other businesses he owns (NOT). He NEVER comes across with the money. He deals with people who are desperate to hear what he has to offer: because they need the funding - they hang on - it's always just around the corner. He's got "offshore money and it's about to be released any minute... blah blah blah." "He's going to Hong Kong next week....." Trust me, he doesn't have enough money to pay for a plane ticket to Ohio.

2) The second circumstance to meet him is when he's hustling for money. People with funds to invest may be introduced to him, or he sends out a boasting e-mail about everything he's doing (ALL UNTRUE) and tells them he's doing good things in the world and convinces them to give him $10,000. Like the water, the hydrogen car battery etc. He tells them he's the managing partner of a private bank, First Austin Capital
(non-existant - says he's got a building in Las Vegas on Maryland Parkway) will put their money into trust for his wonderful projects.

When he's sharp, he's in his con man mode. Sometimes, though, it almost seems like there may be some mental issues. People who do business with him for more than a few weeks typically figure out he's a waste of time. Unfortunatley, he has conned individual "investors" out of money, in some cases they have even lost homes. There is nothing about him on the internet that exposes who he really is.


Find funding for your client somewhere else and save your time. One day, he'll be found out for fraud, as the SEC doesn't look kindly on using a non-existent "private bank" to scam the public.

My client has been approached by Mr. Saltzman at the Mariott LAX. What info. do you have about the courts in which he has been sued? I notice many of the lawsuits in the LA area are old, however, many seem to involve banks as Plaintiffs. Do you know of other courts? How exactly did you lose $$$, ie, how did he get you to part with the money? So far, he has offered to pay a consulting fee, and then fund a company of ours to start up, but has not requested any $$$... Also, what other individuals did he mention, CFO, associates, etc? In response to the person who requested the age of Ted Saltzman, the California "investment broker" who offers "investment opportunities" in properties that will "make a difference in the world" or "fund" your business: Ted Saltzman is a man in his 70's. He acts very young at heart, often hitting on women and making himself look foolish. He is about 5'8 - 5'9 with gray (thin) hair. He typically dresses casually, wears sneakers. He never does business with credit cards - only uses cash (will take people out to eat and leave his wallet in the car!) Has used the following businesses names: Saltzman & Associates, First Austin Capital & Environmental Impact Foundation. Hope this description helps.

UPDATE: To the person who would like to know the approximate age of Mr. Saltzman, he is in his 70's, though he is young at heart. He is on the short side, dresses very casual (sneakers), and never does business with credit cards - uses cash, but typically says his wallet is in the car, so the other party ends up paying.
