Telecheck - Check Collections Of America ripoff Extreme harassment Inglewood Colorado

In late 2004 I miscalculated my checkbook and a grocery store check did not clear. I did not find out about this until about January of 2005 and took care of the check through Telecheck.

They contacted me again in March saying I owed $31 for fees. I paid them March 1, 2005 and have verification from my bank that on March 7, 2005 the Visa charge cleared.

Since then we have gotten rude harassing phone calls for this $31 balance. Every time we have told them we paid it and have the proof, check their records. Lather, rinse and repeat until a month ago...

We get a telephone call from someone threatening us with a lawsuit. My husband gave the same information as before including a confirmation. Then followed it up with an email to the collection agency that works within Telecheck under a different name (Check Collections of America) telling them that any further communication is to be in mail not to call the home or job locations. If a suit is filed a countersuit for harassment and all fees will be filed against them.

Never heard back until today. They called us again harassing and declining to give any information on the account or even the names of the people we are speaking to. We are hung up on. We call THEM back and are put on hold indefinitely. Call back again to be told 'a supervisor will return your call'.

To date this has not been cleared up. Who knows, maybe my next post will be in regards to our countersuit against Telecheck.

Unfortunately it seems this company will take your money for their 'fees' but never actually apply it to your account and never actually clear up the marks on your record. This has cost us credit cards we have applied for and in one case a temporary loan.

We need to be more responsible than this supposed company and do their job for them. When/If you are stuck in paying them their fees, make sure YOU are being credited with YOUR money or be ready for harassment over a year later. If you're smart keep your statements and don't pay them twice. They are a ripoff.
