Tepperman's Windsor / Stain Safe, Teppermans does NOT "stand behind what they sell" despite what they claim Windsor Ontario Canada

Extended Warranties are a rip off! Tepperman's boasts "we stand behind what we sell" when in fact Noah and the rest of their so-called "customer care" team do not go to bat for their customers. When we purchased our $4000 Kroehler leather sofa and loveseat we were sold a warranty which according to the salesman supposedly covered everything.

We were supposed to get sick of the sofa before it would wear out. With 3 young children we were leary about purchasing a set like this, but the salesman convinced us the 10 year warranty would take care of these concerns. This is why we purchased the sofa, yet 5.5 yrs.

later when we experienced a problem with a puncture and the sofa appeared to be wearing poorly, we called customer care and were instructed to call the warranty provider, StainSafe ( whom BTW Tepperman's no longer does business with due to numerous problems with the Florida based co. who has had class action suits filed against it). After sending pics. of the puncture we were told our claim was denied.

For 8 months we made numerous phone calls to Tepperman's, got the run around dealing with 5 different "customer care" representatives none of whom ever got back to us after our 4 visits to the store and promises that "someone will get right back to you", "I'll talk with my supervisor and get back to you", "so and so is no longer with us, we'll look into it right away..." etc. etc. etc. Obviously their tactic is to frustrate you to the point that they hope you'll drop the whole thing.

Finally after we persisted and waited for over 2 hours in the store to see "Noah Tepperman" himself who supposedly would be in meetings all day once we informed the gatekeeper secretary the purpose of our visit, he ended up with the laughable and rather insulting solution of refunding us the cost of the warranty with a store credit. Refunding us a warranty we were sold under false pretenses by his store for a sofa and loveseat we only purchased on the basis of this warranty is akin to an insurrance co.

unwilling to pay up providing you with a set of keys to your house after it has burnt down. What good is $169 when our set cost us over $4000? Like we would even consider purchasing something else from the same store which provided horrible customer service and ultimately no satisfactory resolution to our problem.

Neither Tepperman's or StainSafe even bothered to come and take a look at our loveseat. StainSafe and Tepperman's do everything they can to deny your claim, but they have no problem taking your money for the useless protection they provide.

If you have had problems with Tepperman's please find a way to contact me through the site. I believe there are many of us who have had the same experience and we need to do something about it so others aren't taken advantage of in the same way. At the very least make sure you warn others about what can happen so they consider where they shop.
